(OSF) is seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician for its Moses Lake apple processing facility. This position is responsible for monitoring, documenting, and ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), finished goods specifications, process sheets and/or standard operating procedures (SOP) are all followed during process to achieve a good quality on the products.\n\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nKnowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs), sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs), GMPs, normal operating procedures, and food safety (HACCP)\nPre-operative and post-operative inspections of Equipment and Facility\nMonitoring and record keeping of Quality Control Points – temperature, chemical concentrations\nInteract with the QA Sanitation personnel to perform in their job function and acts as a guide that aids them as needed.\nATP Luminometers\nOperational Inspections- Facility Housekeeping\nResponsible for cleanliness of equipment, tools, and utensils\nRespond to Foreign Material Incidents\nProduct Hold/Segregation/Release\nProduct sampling, microbiological testing, and environmental microbiological testing\nCalibration of thermometers, scales, balances, weigh checkers, and luminometers\nAssist with all facility audits and/or inspections including GMP, Food Safety, Facility, Customer and GFSI\nInspection of all incoming raw materials including apples and packaging\nThe safe handling of all raw materials\nMaintenance of required temperatures for products and rooms\nControlling the physical and organoleptic aspects of the product such as sizing, uniformity, texture, defects, feel, flavor, and odor\nDocumentation control of all quality documents\nMonitor and verify metal detectors and pertaining elements\nAssist in non-conformance investigations.\nFocus on the end product, its functionality, interface, and performance according to the specifications.\nExecute other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager\n\nDESIRED KEY COMPETENCIES:\nThe ability to ability to identify problems and suggest improvements\nThe ability to recognize and comply with hygiene factors according to set procedures\nThe ability to complete all required quality and food safety training within a set timeframe\nThe ability to remain positive and adapt to change\n\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent\n2+ years’ experience in the Quality Assurance and Control regulated industry or bachelor’s degree in an applicable science related field.\nA background in manufacturing and food processing environments is preferred\nProven analytical strengths and experience\nExcellent communication skills must read and write English, math and computer skills, detail orientated and positive attitude\nFood production knowledge FSMA and GFSI scheme knowledge a plus\n\nPHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS\nLifting and carrying up to 50 lbs safely\nStanding for long periods of time, frequent twisting and bending, use of both hands, manual & finger dexterity for rolling/manipulating\nCold, wet, and damp climates of 33°F-38°F\nExposure to loud noises\nThe requirement of the use of safety equipment when operating machinery that may include but will not be limited to protective clothing, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and safety shoes.\n\nGMP & FOOD SAFETY REQUIREMENTS\nThis position requires compliance with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety policies. \nEmployees must follow all sanitation, hygiene, and PPE requirements. \nVisible body piercings, jewelry, and any other prohibited personal items are not allowed on the production floor to ensure product safety and regulatory
