Our products are designed to perform under the toughest conditions.\nJob Summary:\nThe positions within an Assembler are responsible for having the job knowledge and skills to work in every station proficiently on an assembly line, with the ability to identify discrepancies within the process that effect equipment performance or the quality of the product.The Assembler will be responsible for assembling various components in the manufacture of assemblies/sub-assembliesof various heavy-duty vehicles.\nYour Impact: \nThese duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.\nAbility to interpret and process information through interaction with the Pro-Planner System.This system provides standard work instructions and requires the assembler to perform such requirements and confirm results back into the system.\nDisciplined to follow written instruction with data input to prevent assembly issues and potential performance and quality defects.\nWork cycles can be up to 4 hours in duration.The assembler must stay in sequence and be able to confirm each step of the process has been completed successfully before sending the unit to the next station.\nUtilize special equipment including, but not limited to all torque tools, DC tools, brake bleeders, AC chargers, cab testers, Jib and Overhead Cranes and Quality Testing Equipment.\nAssemble parts, wires, hoses, and hydraulics onto products utilizing safe and proper tools and techniques: install various accessories (decals, mud flaps, cameras, lights)\nMaintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and proper 6S standards; use best practices to follow all safe procedures in assembling and testing of all models/products in assigned job function.\nAssist in driving back defects to the point of origin along with identifying and assisting in implementation of preventative actions.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n6 months or more of relevant experience OR high school diploma or equivalent education\nPrevious experience with basic hand tools\nStandout Qualifications:\nPrevious experience working in a manufacturing operations environment\nKey Abilities Needed to Complete Essential Functions\n*All positions require the ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.\nPerform all assigned tasks\nDemonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills\nRecognize and react to abnormal operating conditions\nUse and wear personal protective equipment as indicated by the task or environment\nHear safety alarms and other co-workers\nPerform basic counting tasks\nRead tape measure, safety manuals, work orders, and blueprints effectively\nFollow instructions from supervisors and other co-workers\nUnderstand and identify safety issues\nMaintain balance when walking and standing on potential slippery work floor\nMaintain balance when climbing on a portable step, ladders, and trucks\nIndividually lift and manipulate parts/equipment weighing up to 35 pounds\nTolerate constant standing while performing tasks along with occasional awkward positions to complete the tasks\nHave good hand eye coordination\nUse both hands for tool operation, carrying of parts, and assisting co-workers with heavy lifting of parts\nDistinguish the difference in various parts and equipment\nOperate and access heavy equipment safely and effectively\nRemember task sequence and safety constraints\nOshkosh is committed to working with and offering reasonable accommodations to job applicants with disabilities.
