You’ll work alongside cybersecurity professionals to investigate real-world security events, support enterprise security technologies, improve security controls, and help strengthen Oshkosh’s overall security posture.\nThis internship provides exposure to both the technical and operational sides of cybersecurity while giving you the opportunity to develop practical skills, work with industry tools, and understand how cybersecurity supports a global organization.\nYOUR IMPACT\nAs a Cybersecurity Intern, your responsibilities may include:\nWorking alongside Security Operations, Incident Response, and Cyber Defense teams\n\nInvestigating phishing emails, malware, security alerts, and other cybersecurity events\n\nSupporting the technologies used by the Cyber Defense team, including day-to-day operations, maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management\n\nAssisting with the administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of security applications and infrastructure\n\nParticipating in patching, deployment, and upgrades of security applications and agents\n\nTroubleshooting and remediating cybersecurity tickets based on priority\n\nSupporting security logging across the enterprise, including adding, updating, troubleshooting, and decommissioning security logs\n\nGaining hands-on experience maintaining and upgrading malware lab environments and cybersecurity tools\n\nAssisting with the development and management of honeypots and other defensive security capabilities\n\nSupporting server and infrastructure activities, including configuration and hardware installation\n\nWorking with technology vendors and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues\n\nAnalyzing security metrics and developing reports or briefings that communicate cybersecurity activity and trends\n\nCreating cybersecurity awareness and outreach communications\n\nParticipating in the design, development, testing, and integration of technology and information security controls\n\nCreating and maintaining technical, process, and project documentation\n\nSupporting continuous improvement of security technologies, controls, and business processes\n\nCollaborating with teams across Oshkosh to understand how technology, cybersecurity, and business practices work together to support the organization\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nPursuing an undergraduate degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field\n\nInterest in pursuing a career in cybersecurity, information security, or a related technology field\n\nAbility to work year-round in Oshkosh, WI\n\nReliable transportation with the ability to travel between local Oshkosh facilities and data centers as needed\n\nAbility to lift up to 25 pounds when supporting applicable technology or infrastructure activities\n\nSTANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS\nCoursework in cybersecurity, information security, networking, computer science, or related areas\n\nPrevious cybersecurity or information technology experience through coursework, employment, labs, clubs, competitions, or personal projects\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\n\nStrong attention to detail\n\nAbility to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments\n\nInterest in areas such as incident response, security operations, malware analysis, cyber defense, security engineering, networking, or security infrastructure\n\nEXPERIENCE YOU WILL GAIN\nThrough this internship, you will have the opportunity to develop:\nHands-on experience with enterprise cybersecurity technologies and tools\n\nExposure to real-world security operations, incident response, and cyber defense\n\nExperience investigating and responding to cybersecurity events\n\nUnderstanding of security infrastructure, applications, logging, and defensive technologies\n\nExperience communicating cybersecurity information to both technical and non-technical audiences\n\nProject management, prioritization, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills\n\nUnderstanding of how cybersecurity functions within a large global organization\n\nProfessional relationships with cybersecurity, technology, and business professionals across Oshkosh\n\nWHY OSHKOSH?\nMoving the future forward is our priority-and that includes your future.
