You will support the development of prototype and concept vehicles, with a strong focus on vehicle electrification, autonomous vehicles, and unmanned vehicle platforms.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS: Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:\nStrong understanding of engineering fundamentals and principles.\nPerform complex engineering analysis and problem solving.\nCreate and approve engineering drawings and specifications.\nLead the design and specification of mechatronic and embedded systems including component selection, system architecture, control methods.\nCommunicate mechanical requirements of system to design staff. \nTroubleshoot electrical systems.\nUse electronics related tools: oscilloscope, voltmeter, power supplies, hand tools, etc.\nLead electronics projects: develop and execute work plans, budgets, etc.\nDevelop new processes and engineering tools.\nSupport business development activities: proposal creation, cost and resource estimates, project timing, etc.\nDesign, specify and partition complex wire harness assemblies.\nProvide guidance and technical expertise to colleagues and other departments.\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following areas will be assigned as required.\nInteraction with current and potential customers regarding Pratt Miller systems.\nPlanning and program management on internal and customer projects.\nEducation / training.\nProvide feedback on product needs and processes.\nStrong technical writing, communication, team, and organizational skills. \nProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint.) \nBe a team player. \nHave great attention to detail. \nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nEDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:\nBS or MS in Automotive, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Systems.\nMinimum 6+ years of engineering experience.\nDESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:\nHigh Voltage system design experience.\nElectrical and hybrid vehicle systems experience.\nAutonomous & by-wire systems experience.\nMATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow experience.\nVector CAN tools experience.\ndSpace tools.\nCommunication protocols: CAN, LIN, SPI, Wireless 802.11, ethernet, etc.\nCAD tools.\nMentor Graphics Vesys or Capital experience.\nHigh Voltage component experience (motors, inverters, chargers, etc.).\nSystem reverse engineering experience.\nData acquisition experience.\nPrinted Circuit Board design experience.\nProject leadership / program management.\nExperience mentoring others.\nExtensive knowledge of automotive, defense or motorsports industry requirements, standards, and trends.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nPosition requires light physical activity.\nEXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:\nDaytime schedule Monday - Friday with infrequent night/weekend work to achieve deadlines.\nOccasional travel as required for on-site customer work.\nPay Range:\n$91,500.00 - $148,100.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations.
