Provide product definition through bills of material and appropriate documentation for new and revised electrical system designs. Ensure the smooth flow of operations within the engineering department by optimizing engineering design(s) for manufacturing process efficiency and effectiveness. Focus on minimizing number of parts in a product design to reduce cost, eliminate waste, and minimize opportunities for defects.\nYOUR IMPACT\nThese duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:\nPrepare engineering drawings, layouts and schematics using computer aided design software.\nCreate Bills of Material (BOM).\nSelect materials for engineered parts.\nDimension and tolerance drawings to ensure proper assembly fit.\nConform to drafting standards and department policies.\nPrepare engineering change notices (ECN).\nConsult and coordinate with suppliers.\nChecks own work and that of others.\nWorks independently with minimal direction.\nMaintain a working knowledge of One World, PRIDE and PC network systems.\nSupport Customer Service with direction on electrical and multiplexing related field problems.\nSupport manufacturing with direction on electrical and multiplexing related questions, features and upgrades.\nSupport Production Specialists with direction on option configuration.\n*Job duties will vary depending on business unit and location of internship.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nStudent working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or engineering related field for the entire duration of the internship.\nSTANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS\nProfessional oral and written communication skills.\nExperience with automotive/heavy duty truck electrical applications and communication networks.\nRobust analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExperience with CATIA V5 / SmarTeam application, SolidWorks, CATIA V5 Electrical.\nExperience with 2D computer aided design software Zuken E³. Enterprise, Medusa, AutoCAD application.\nExperience with design and development of wiring schematics, reference drawings, and wire harnesses.\nExperience in Lean Manufacturing principals such as value streams, 5S, 7 general types of waste, and project planning.\nMinimum GPA 3.0\nPay Range:\n$18.00 - $37.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations.
