As part of the Oshkosh family, we have the unique ability to leverage our manufacturing, procurement and engineering resources across the breadth of our organization, making our products truly unique and built for breakthrough.\nSUMMARY\nAssist a variety of engineers (design, production, manufacturing, industrial, test, etc.) with multiple tasks involving the mechanical engineering functions at Frontline Communications.\nYOUR IMPACT\nThese duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:\nPrepare vehicle component layouts using CAD software i.e., CATIA. \nSelect parts or components for quality conscious design, i.e., weight, cost, reliability, and ease of manufacturing.\nFollow project on the assembly floor for prototype, pilot, or production build and provide technical assistance.\nGenerate engineering calculations of weight distribution, stress analysis, performance estimations, etc.\nConsult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to find solutions to problems.\nPerform or assist in the testing of complete vehicles or vehicle components.\nCreate and manage ECN’s (Engineering Change Notices) using the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.\nDesign, model, and test new mechanical systems that integrate with a vehicle.\nUpdate bill of materials in the PDM (Product Data Management) system to reflect product changes.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\n· Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering field for entire duration of internship\nSTANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS\n· Good oral and written communication skills.\n· Experience in extracurricular activities outside academic requirements.\n· Previous internship experience or work-related experience.\n· Experience using CATIA, Pro-E or a similar CAD system is a plus.\n· Previous experience or heightened interest in mechanical design.\nPay Range:\n$18.00 - $37.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
