The team member must be able to write embedded C/C++, Matlab autogenerated software to run on embedded platforms that controls various vehicle systems through network messaging and directly connected inputs and outputs.\nYOUR IMPACT: \nUnder close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh, as well as general industry, engineering standards and processes.\nSupport senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.\nUnder close supervision, work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.\nCollaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.\nAbility to write high-quality, maintainable, C/C++, Matlab autogenerated software.\nParticipate in peer reviews, estimation, and other engineering activities.\nFollow defined CMMI level 3 process and procedures in the writing of software.\nAbility to travel off-site to support engineering projects. \nDesign, implement and document real-time embedded software written in C/C++.\nSupport supervisor, engineers, and other departments to execute job assignments.\nResponsible for the design and implementation of software to meet various requirements which include: functionality, memory utilization, performance and maintainability.\nRead and create software designs in UML.\nProvide technical assistance for prototype, pilot and production software.\nFollow good software practices including the use of version control, change control and issue tracking software.\nParticipate in project time estimation, technical proposals and decision analysis.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRegular attendance is required.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\nAccredited Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.\nSTANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:\nAccredited Bachelor's degree in Software, Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering. \nFamiliarity with JavaScript, JSON, Python, or CAN, in addition to embedded C/C++.\nCORE COMPETENCIES:\n Internal Contacts: Contact with peers and others involving explanation of information (these contacts may be within or outside department or division), and the gathering of factual information; may include the communication of sensitive or confidential information.\nExternal Contacts: Limited external contact to gather information, answer queries, or ask assistance.\nCommunication Skills: Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; Read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; Write routine reports, correspondence and speak effectively before both internal and external groups; Read, analyze and interpret business manuals, technical procedures and/or government regulations: Read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.\nDecision-Making: Regularly makes decisions of responsibility, involving evaluation of information.
