With a focus on reliability, driver experience, and cutting-edge technology, Oshkosh Delivery empowers fleets and businesses to move goods smarter, safer, and with confidence, today and for the road ahead.\nPosition Overview:\nThe Mechanical Engineer Intern will support the Design Engineering organization and manufacturing operations by assisting with production readiness activities, engineering investigations, and corrective actions under the guidance of senior engineers.\nYOUR IMPACT:\nAssist with design support activities in production operations, learning vehicle systems and manufacturing processes.\nSupport communication and liaison activities between the Product Design Team and the Operations Team.\nAssist with torque studies and related testing activities.\nSupport root cause analysis of production issues by collecting data, documenting observations, and assisting with failure analysis under engineer supervision.\nHelp develop and document corrective actions in collaboration with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams.\nParticipate in production trials of new product designs and design changes, including data collection, observation, and results documentation.\nPerform engineering calculations, analysis, and research tasks as assigned under supervision, following Oshkosh and industry engineering standards.\nAssist in communicating technical findings and issue status to team members and supervision.\nSupport project activities of limited scope, working as part of a cross-functional engineering team.\nHelp create and maintain project documentation, technical reports, and analysis records.\nCollaborate with engineers, technicians, and other interns on assigned tasks and projects.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering field from an accredited institution.\nCompleted at least sophomore year coursework (or equivalent).\nStrong academic performance (minimum 3.0 GPA preferred).\nBasic understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving methodologies.\nStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).\nSTANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:\nCoursework or project experience related to mechanical design, manufacturing processes, or quality systems.\nPrevious internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, automotive, or heavy-vehicle industries.\nExposure to CAD systems (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar).\nFamiliarity with root cause analysis methodologies (5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, 8D problem solving).\nKnowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle systems.\nStrong analytical and technical writing skills.\nPay Range:\n$18.00 - $37.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
