We’d love to meet you!\nA LITTLE ABOUT MELKSHAM GARDENS\nOur new purpose-built home on Longleaze Lane will provide residential, nursing and dementia care, alongside respite and day care.\nThe home will feature 80 en-suite bedrooms, landscaped gardens, private dining, a cinema, gym and wellbeing facilities, activities room, salon and spa, and family accommodation. Innovative technology, including circadian lighting and acoustic monitoring, will support our person-centred approach to care.\nDesigned around residents’ comfort, wellbeing and independence, Melksham Gardens will provide a welcoming environment where residents can feel at home and enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle.\nA UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY\nJoining a brand-new home is exciting - but it is also different.\nDepending on the progress of the home, you may join us during the preparation and mobilisation period or as we welcome our first residents. You’ll play an important role in helping establish the kitchen team, creating high standards and ensuring our residents enjoy delicious meals and a positive dining experience from the moment the home opens.\nThis is a wonderful opportunity to become part of a new team, contribute to the development of the home and help create a place where residents, families and colleagues feel welcome.\nABOUT THE ROLE\nWe’re recruiting for Kitchen Assistants to join our passionate, hard-working and friendly catering team, helping to create delicious meals, snacks and drinks for our residents.\nYou’ll get to know our residents, understand their likes and dislikes and help make mealtimes a highlight of their day. You’ll support the catering team with food preparation, serving meals and drinks, and maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment.\nYou’ll help ensure that food is prepared and served to a high standard, following food hygiene and safety procedures and supporting the team to deliver an excellent dining experience.\nIn joining us, you’ll also become part of our extended family. You’ll work alongside colleagues who are passionate about providing care, warmth and kindness to everyone who lives and works in our homes.\nAs part of a brand-new home, you’ll have the opportunity to help establish kitchen routines and standards while contributing to a welcoming environment where residents can enjoy great food, good company and a real sense of belonging.\nABOUT YOU\nYou don’t need previous formal catering experience, as we’ll provide the training you need, although a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate would be helpful.\nWhat matters most is that you enjoy working as part of a team, take pride in your work and have a positive, can-do attitude. You’ll be keen to learn, happy to get involved in a variety of kitchen tasks and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.\nYou’ll have good communication skills and a genuine passion for ensuring our residents receive the best possible service.
