This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, consultative communication, solution design, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical stakeholders and executive decision-makers.\nRole Responsibilities\nWork closely with Account Executives to understand business requirements and uncover the technical challenges and constraints of clients and prospects.\nDesign and architect end-to-end technology solutions leveraging technologies such as VMware, Fortinet, Zerto, Veeam, and other OTAVA technology platforms.\nDevelop detailed technical designs and documentation, including pre-sales architecture diagrams and scopes of work.\nProvide technical leadership and guidance throughout the sales lifecycle, ensuring proposed solutions align with industry standards and OTAVA best practices.\nServe as a trusted technical advisor to clients and prospects, providing expertise, recommendations, and solution guidance.\nPartner with Account Executives to address customer technical challenges and clearly articulate how OTAVA’s proposed solutions address business and technical requirements.\nPresent solution architectures and technical recommendations effectively to both technical stakeholders and executive-level decision-makers.\nCollaborate across OTAVA teams, including Sales, Product, Engineering, and Implementation, to ensure solutions are technically viable and deliver a high-quality customer experience.\nSupport Account Executives with account management and renewal activities for existing customers.\nMaintain current knowledge of OTAVA technologies, solutions, industry trends, and relevant partner technologies.\nSupport up to three assigned Account Executives and provide technical expertise throughout their respective sales cycles.\nContribute toward assigned sales objectives in this quota-bearing role, with quota aligned to the combined targets of the assigned Account Executives.\nOther duties as required to assist the OTAVA sales and technical teams in achieving their objectives.\nExperience\n3+ years of experience in a Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or similar pre-sales technical role.\n6+ years of experience in data center, cloud, hosted infrastructure, technical support, engineering, or related technology roles.\nExperience designing cloud, hosted infrastructure, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.\nExperience with backup and disaster recovery technologies such as Veeam and Zerto.\nExperience working with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) and/or Managed Service Providers (MSPs) preferred.\nExperience spanning both technology sales and technical operations/engineering strongly preferred.\nNetworking engineering and/or network architecture design experience is a plus.\nExperience supporting enterprise sales organizations and complex enterprise customer environments is a plus.\nDemonstrated experience translating complex technical requirements into practical, scalable customer solutions.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nIn-depth knowledge of VMware, Veeam, and Zerto technologies and experience designing private and multi-tenant cloud solutions.\nStrong understanding of storage architecture and design; experience with NetApp is a plus.\nStrong understanding of network architecture and design; experience with Fortinet and Cisco is a plus.\nAbility to clearly and concisely explain and justify technical recommendations when faced with competing alternatives or opposing viewpoints.\nAbility to effectively present complex technical concepts to large groups and both technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level decision-makers.\nStrong consultative and customer-facing skills with the ability to serve as a trusted technical advisor.\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\nStrong verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.\nAbility to develop clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and scopes of work.\nAbility to work collaboratively across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Implementation teams in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.\nAbility to balance multiple customer opportunities and priorities while supporting multiple Account Executives.\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or equivalent experience.\nLicense or Certification (willing to complete in established timeframe)\nPreferred certifications include:\nBroadcom VMware VCF Proven Professional and Certified Expert Certifications\nBroadcom VMware VCF Knight Certification\nVeeam certifications\nFortinet certifications\nZerto certifications\nNetApp certifications\nAll hired candidates will be expected to earn and maintain a specific list of defined certifications after completing their first year of employment with OTAVA.
