This position leads the strategic alignment of Product, Engineering, Site Reliability, Cloud Infrastructure, Security, and Operational Excellence to ensure OTAVA delivers innovative, scalable, secure, and highly reliable cloud and managed service solutions.\nThe VP of Technology & Engineering serves as the key bridge between product strategy and technical execution, ensuring OTAVA’s platforms, systems, and services remain competitive, differentiated, and operationally sound.\nResponsibilities\nStrategic Technology Leadership\nDefine and execute OTAVA’s enterprise-wide technology and engineering strategy.\nAlign engineering, infrastructure, product development, and operations with corporate growth objectives.\nLead the technology roadmap for OTAVA’s cloud, infrastructure, security, automation, and managed services portfolio.\nPartner with executive leadership to support long-term innovation, scalability, and profitability goals.\nEvaluate and implement emerging technologies that enhance OTAVA’s competitive position.\nProduct Engineering & Innovation\nServe as the executive liaison between Product Management and Engineering.\nCollaborate with Product leadership to define technical product roadmaps and service architecture.\nOversee engineering development for new and existing products, integrations, and service enhancements.\nEnsure technical feasibility, performance, scalability, and security of product offerings.\nSupport Solution Architects and Sales teams with technical product enablement.\nEngineering & Infrastructure Management\nLead and develop engineering, site reliability, and operational teams of 20+ professionals. Oversee:\nCloud Infrastructure\nSystems Engineering\nSite Reliability Engineering (SRE)\nAutomation\nInternal IT systems\nSecurity and compliance engineering\nDrive operational excellence, service reliability, change management, and incident response.\nEnsure engineering teams meet performance, availability, and customer experience expectations.\nManage technical escalations and executive-level service issues.\nOperational Excellence & Process Improvement\nImprove and scale OTAVA’s operational frameworks, procedures, and technical processes.\nDrive automation, orchestration, and process efficiencies across infrastructure and engineering environments.\nEstablish KPIs and operational metrics related to:\nUptime\nService delivery\nNPS\nCSAT\nRevenue retention\nTeam productivity\nManage change control, compliance, and service continuity strategies.\nBalance strategic projects with day-to-day operational priorities.\nFinancial & Vendor Management\nManage technology budgets including CAPEX and OPEX.\nOversee vendor relationships and strategic technology partnerships.\nEvaluate vendor performance, costs, and strategic fit.\nSupport infrastructure investments, data center planning, and cloud platform optimization.\nLeadership & Team Development\nBuild, mentor, and scale high-performing technical teams.\nIdentify required roles, skills, and talent strategies for future organizational growth.\nEstablish leadership development, technical training, and succession planning programs.\nFoster collaboration across Sales, Product, Operations, Security, and Customer Success teams.\nPromote a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer obsession.\nCustomer & Business Alignment\nSupport executive customer relationships and technical business reviews.\nStrengthen customer trust through reliable, innovative technical solutions.\nCollaborate with client-facing teams to improve customer retention and product adoption.\nEnsure OTAVA’s technical capabilities align with customer outcomes and market demand.\nExperience\n10+ years of progressive IT, cloud, infrastructure, or engineering leadership experience\n5+ years in senior leadership (Director or VP level)\nExperience managing global, cross-functional technical teams of 20+ employees\nProven experience in:\nCloud infrastructure\nProduct engineering\nMSP environments\nSystems architecture\nVendor management\nBudget ownership\nExperience leading in Agile/Scrum/Iterative development environments\nDeep operational experience across systems, networking, storage, cloud, security, and automation\nStrong customer-facing leadership experience\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nExtensive knowledge of:\nStrong understanding of:\nExceptional strategic planning and organizational leadership skills\nStrong financial acumen\nExcellent communication and executive presentation abilities\nProven ability to lead technical transformations\nStrong customer engagement and stakeholder management capabilities\nHigh emotional intelligence and people leadership maturity\nEducation\nBachelor’s Degree or relevant technical certifications required \nBS in Computer Information Technology or related,\nCertifications\nOne or more relevant industry recognized certifications: MCSA, CCNA, CISSP, CCNET, Comp TIA A+, MTA, ITIL\nWhat We Offer:\nCompetitive base salary ($190 - 240K) depending on experience and certifications) plus bonus, 401(k) match, health insurance, generous PTO, paid volunteer time off, and working with world-class co-workers who are just as dedicated and as awesome as you are.\nWhat about Otava?\nAt Otava, we are people empowering people to enable growth.
