Provide production support and coordinate activities between engineering, other internal departments, vendors and customers to successfully achieve goals set for the project. Degree of supervision required to perform job duties should not exceed 40%.\nSpecifically, the Mechanical Engineer II will :\nEstablish the design concepts and develop performance specifications for products which meet or exceed customer and marketing goals in all respects\nProvide product and tooling cost estimates for quotations to customers\nPerform mathematical calculations pertaining to performance modeling, stress analysis, tolerance studies, and statistical properties of engineering data both manually and utilizing CAE tools\nLayout complete designs of product assemblies, subassemblies, and detailed piece parts both manually and utilizing CAD tools\nPrepare drawings, BOM’s. ECN’s, and all other documents as required\nProactively inform management of changes in circumstances, provide alternative corrective actions to maintain progress, and recover original schedules if possible\nCoordinate activities affecting internal departments, vendors, and customers required to achieve project schedules, milestones and goals\nSupport production and quality control in solving design and process related problems on existing products\nMaintain a thorough understanding of engineering and scientific principles which can be utilized to develop products which provide predictable and reliable performance\nPerform all functions of engineering positions below this level of responsibility\nParticipate in the Material Review Board (MRB) as needed - including developing and processing Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and performing part analysis as directed by MRB members\nWill work on components or subassemblies as assigned and will require higher levels of interaction/guidance of supervisor or senior engineers\nAssists with other related duties as required or assigned\nWhat you’ll need to bring to the table:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent is strongly preferred\nMinimum of 1 year experience in the engineering field of practice including use of mechanical CAD (preferably CREO)\nStrong oral and written communication skills\nMust be able to work in a quick paced environment\nGood follow-up skills\nWhat OTTO offers for this specific position:\nThe hiring range listed in this posting is what we, in good faith, anticipate relying on when confirming a base salary for this position; exceptions may be considered for highly experienced candidates with multiple years of at-level experience.\nTarget base salary hiring range: $70,000 to $80,000, based on qualifications and experience.\nProfit Sharing Bonus - OTTO believes that it’s fair to share the profits that the employees help to make; profit sharing is distributed to employees twice a year.
