Now we’re looking forward to expanding our team to make even more possible.\nYOUR IMPACT\n Your Focus: Implementing AI Use Cases Your main focus will be on the direct implementation of AI use cases:\nYou’ll develop (generative) AI solutions from the initial idea through to production-including automated deployment. Your Goal: Optimizing processes and user experiences, e.g., through personalized customer interactions or by supporting our service agents in handling chats\nYou’ll develop and implement reliable validation and testing procedures to ensure the generalizability and reliability of AI models\nYou’ll continuously monitor and optimize the deployed models in terms of performance and efficiency\nDuring implementation, you’ll work closely with product management, our full-stack engineers, and business units to seamlessly integrate AI solutions into our systems\nGrowing Responsibility: Solution Architecture & Platform\nIn addition, you’ll take on responsibility for the technical development of our AI platform-as you get to know the team and the systems:\nYou’ll design the technical solution architecture for new AI use cases, identify critical dependencies early on, and validate technical assumptions-before implementation begins\nYou’ll provide technical guidance to the team and serve as a sounding board to discuss how we can meaningfully further develop our AI platform\nYou’ll help us establish technical standards, best practices, and reusable patterns-in a pragmatic way that suits the size of the team\nOur Shared Commitment as a Team\nFor all of us, this is an integral part of our role-and it will become part of your daily routine as well:\nTechnology Scouting: You’ll analyze new AI trends and technologies and evaluate their potential for ottonova to drive targeted innovation\nKnowledge sharing: You’ll ensure the success and effective use of the implemented AI solutions through documentation and knowledge-sharing sessions, and serve as a technical sparring partner for the team\nYOUR SKILLSET\nYour profile is based on a degree in Computer Science or a related technical, mathematical, or scientific field5+ years of experience in developing and deploying AI/ML solutions in enterprise environments, with a strong portfolio of successful use cases\nIn-depth knowledge of generative AI (LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, vector databases, embeddings) as well as traditional machine learning\nCloud & MLOps expertise: Experience with cloud-based ML services (e.g., model hosting, serverless compute) and common MLOps tools (e.g., Docker, CI/CD pipelines). Experience with AWS is a major plus (Bedrock, Lambda, Fargate, EKS)\nArchitectural intuition honed through experience: You have not only implemented technical solutions for AI products but also helped design them-and you know what matters most for scalable, maintainable AI systems\nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with business processes and the perspectives of various stakeholders, understand their requirements, and derive technical concepts from them that you can communicate clearly and precisely-to both technical and non-technical audiences\nLanguages: Fluent in German (at least B2) and English\nPlus points, not required-if you don’t have experience in these areas yet, you can gain it with us:\nIn-depth knowledge of platform engineering & MLOps: Experience building or further developing ML/GenAI platforms, e.g., using managed ML platforms (AWS SageMaker), container orchestration (EKS, Kubernetes/Kubeflow), or a hybrid approach\nExperience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform)\nExperience in the insurance or FinTech industry\nWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT\nCreative Freedom: You’ll further develop our existing AI platform, professionalize the infrastructure, and design solutions for a wide variety of requirements-with full ownership.\nTechnical Sparring Partner, rather than a Lone Wolf: You’ll provide the team with technical guidance and help shape the direction of our AI platform.
