Ask your recruiter about our competitive total rewards package including a $2,000 or $1,000 sign-on bonus!\nThis position may be filled as either Certified Medical Assistant Level 1 or 2, depending on individual experience, expertise, and qualifications.\nThe Certified Medical Assistant works alongside Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to provide direct patient care according to state and federal guidelines. This position plays an important role in the ambulatory setting by not only performing clinical and administrative duties but also helping patients feel at ease and understanding provider instructions.\nEssential Responsibilities\nResponsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.\nProvides direct patient care by taking vitals, patient history, venipuncture, lab, x-ray, referrals, and patient phone messages as directed by the provider and/or clinical supervisor\n\nAdheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires\n\nContributes to the assessment/re-assessment of patients\n\nMonitors and documents patient status\n\nManages large call volume while maintaining excellent telephone etiquette\n\nOrganizes workflow to meet patient needs in a timely manner\n\nMay retrieve and transport medications, instruments and supplies.\n\nModerate exposure to hazardous risks, including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, chemicals\n\nMust follow standard precautions\n\nResponsible for stocking exam rooms, taking inventory, and ordering supplies.\n\nMakes scheduling arrangements with other healthcare professionals and facilities.\n\nAssists with procedures. Maintaining sterile field and specimen labeling when necessary.\n\nGathers and documents information about patient condition, which include lab values, pain levels, patient education needs, nutritional status and potential complications\n\nPerforms cleaning, sterilization and/or high-level disinfection of scopes, probe, instruments and equipment according to manufacturer instructions for use.\n\nParticipates in the development of the plan of care, including implementation and evaluation of appropriate patient care interventions which may include oral, intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous medication administration (exclusive of narcotics) as directed by a physician or physician assistant.\n\nReinforcing patient education about medications, post-surgical care, special diets, and changes in treatment plans.\n\nTransmitting prescription refills as directed\n\nArranging for hospital admissions and patient care services\n\nMay precept new medical assistants\n\nParticipate in daily compliance audits, chart checks, and reporting safety events\n\nDe-escalate patient concerns\n\nMinimum Requirements Certified Medical Assistant I:\nEducation: High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.\nExperience: 0-3 years of experience in Patient Care as a Medical Assistant or similar patient care role preferred.\nLicense/Certification/Registration: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.\nAdditionally, one of the following certifications are required upon hire:\nMedical Assistant - American Medical Technologists (AMT)\n\nRegistered Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Personnel\n\nRegistered Medical Assistant - American Allied Health\n\nCertified Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)\n\nCertified Clinical Medical Assistant - National HealthCareer Association\n\nNational Certified Medical Assistant - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)\n\nNationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant - National Association for Health Professionals\n\nMinimum Requirements Certified Medical Assistant II:\nEducation: High School Diploma or GED required.
