Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.\nAssists with the nursing assessment through data collection, observation, and obtainment of vital signs on assigned patients or clients.\n\nProvides care according to an established nursing plan.\n\nObserves changes in patient’s condition and notify supervisory personnel if significant changes occur.\n\nProvides routine ostomy care, nasogastric tube placement and feeding and placement, and discontinuing of oral-gastric tube. Initiates and monitors oxygen therapy according to physician orders or unit protocol.\n\nSuctions and cleans tracheotomy sites.\n\nMay administer oral, intravenous, intra-muscular, intra-dermal, subcutaneous, sub-lingual, vaginal, rectal, and topical medications.\n\nPrepares patients for routine physical examinations and assist the physician during examinations.\n\nAn LPN can function in the role of Surgical Tech if position open is in the operating room.\n\nGeneral Responsibilities\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nEducation Requirements\nHS Diploma or GED required.\n\nCompletion of education requirements for NCLEX-PN examination.\n\nExperience Requirements\nNo experience required.\n\nLicense/Certification/Registration Requirements\nCurrent Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.\n\nCurrent LPN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing OR a current multistate LPN License (eNLC) required.\n\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities\nKnowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.\n\nAbility to organize, coordinate, plan, and evaluate nursing needs of assigned patients.\n\nMust be knowledgeable about operating room techniques if applying for a surgery position.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.\n\nCurrent OU Health Employees - Please clickHEREto login.\nOU Health is an equal opportunity employer.
