Inability to perform these responsibilities, with or without an accommodation, may result in disqualification from the position.\nResponsible for overseeing the cleaning, decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of all surgical instrumentation and reusable supply items as well as the preparation of the case carts.\n\nManages the processing, storage, and distribution of processed sterile supplies and equipment.\n\nOversees department’s daily operation.\n\nMonitors the surgery case schedule and ensures instruments, equipment, and Case Carts are ready when needed.\n\nResponsible for meeting all requirements and needs for instrumentation and equipment established by physicians, surgeons, and others.\n\nAssesses departmental processes and develops plans to improve processes as needed.\n\nConducts in-service education programs for staff members as necessary and on a routine basis.\n\nEnsures that employees are properly trained in all aspects of sterile processing and the preparation of Case Carts.\n\nEvaluates employee performance and makes recommendations to improve performance.\n\nWorks on various projects as assigned.\n\nSupervises the departmental staff.\n\nGeneral Responsibilities:\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor's Degree required.\nExperience: 3 years of hospital experience, including 3 years of progressive leadership experience, required.\nLicense(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s):\nCertified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) issued by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) OR Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) issued by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) required.\n\nCertified Healthcare Leader (CHL) issued by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Management (CSPDM) issued by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required within 6 months.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nKnowledge of maintenance and sterilization of medical supplies and equipment.\n\nKnowledge of correct sanitation and hygiene.\n\nKnowledge of proper safety practices of steam and gas sterilization.\n\nKnowledge of simple record-keeping principles and practices.\n\nSkill in supervisory methods.\n\nAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with other medical staff, peers, and subordinates.\n\nEffective verbal and written communication.\n\nCurrent OU Health Employees - Please clickHEREto login.\nOU Health is an equal opportunity employer.
