This role involves managing data collection, reporting, and trending for all critical network components and services. The Network Engineer III will diagnose and resolve the most complex network and security incidents and requests that require research and diagnosis. They also recommend process changes that improve the implementation, maintenance, and support of network equipment.\nEssential Responsibilities\nResponsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.\nDesign and architect complex Cisco-based network solutions to meet business requirements and scalability needs.\n\nDevelop comprehensive network design documentation, including high-level and low-level designs\n\nConfigure and optimize Cisco routers (ISR, ASR) and switches (Catalyst, Nexus) for performance and reliability.\n\nImplement advanced routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and MPLS where applicable\n\nDesign and deploy Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs (site-to-site, remote access), and other security solutions.\n\nDevelop and enforce network security policies, including access control lists (ACLs) and security best practices.\n\nUtilize Cisco monitoring tools (Cisco DNA Center) to monitor network performance and proactively address issues.\n\nConduct performance analysis, capacity planning, and implement optimization strategies.\n\nLead troubleshooting efforts for complex network issues, including escalated incidents and outages.\n\nPerform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., security, systems, applications) to integrate network solutions into overall IT infrastructure projects.\n\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.\n\nLead network infrastructure projects from initiation through implementation, ensuring milestones are met within scope, budget, and timeline.\n\nManage vendor relationships and coordinate activities with external service providers.\n\nGeneral Responsibilities\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nEducation Requirements:\nBachelor’s Degree required.\n\nExperience Requirements:\n5 or more years of progressive experience in network engineering, with a focus on Cisco technologies required.\n\nProven track record of designing and implementing complex network solutions and leading projects.\n\nExtensive hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.\n\nLicense/Certification/Registration Requirements:\nCisco certifications such as CCNP or CCIE are highly desirable\n\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:\nExpert-level knowledge of Cisco routing and switching technologies, including advanced protocols and features.\n\nDeep understanding of network security principles and practices, including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.\n\nProficiency in network monitoring and management tools, with the ability to analyze performance metrics and optimize network infrastructure.\n\nStrong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively.\n\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.\n\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.\n\nWillingness to stay updated with industry trends and advancements in networking technologies.\n\nExperience with software-defined networking (SDN) and Cisco SD-WAN solutions.\n\nKnowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies.\n\nFamiliarity with ITIL framework or other IT service management best practices.\n\nCurrent OU Health Employees - Please clickHEREto login.\nOU Health is an equal opportunity employer.
