Substation Technician II

Job Purpose: This is a substation technician position in a craft ladder as the next job level from the Substation Technician III. Assist Substation Technicians in the maintenance of all substation equipment. Work under the direction of a Substation Technician I on a multi-person crew maintaining substation equipment or other assigned duties as necessary.

Primary Functions: Work with crews maintaining testing all substation equipment under leadership of Substation Technician I or Lead Substation Technician; Assist crew in performing (HV) Low Voltage (LV) switching activities under supervision of Substation Technician I or Lead Substation Technician; Review job assignments and safety procedures each morning with Substation Technician I or Lead Substation Technician; Assist in preparing vehicles for next assignment with tools and equipment for their crew, being personally responsible for assigned equipment; Help ensure all job-related equipment needs, crew needs, etc. are met (i.e. tools available, trucks are stocked, parts available, etc.); Assist with training and requirements for Substation Technician IIIs; Perform other duties as assigned.
