As part of OUP’s mission-driven environment, you will contribute to creating educational content that is accurate, inclusive, pedagogically sound, and aligned with curriculum standards.\nYou will join a collaborative team working with authors, designers, illustrators, production experts, and digital teams-making the role both creatively stimulating and intellectually enriching.\nWith increasing emphasis on integrating contemporary themes such as digital literacy, environmental awareness, and financial literacy, the role presents opportunities to work on innovative projects across print and digital platforms.\nOpportunity -\nDay-to-day responsibilities\nYou will be responsible for end-to-end editorial development of English textbooks and learning resources, including:\nEditing and proofreading manuscripts for grammar, clarity, consistency, and age-appropriate language.\nAdapting and refining content to align with curriculum standards.\nEnsuring accuracy and pedagogical soundness of rubrics, answer keys, and teacher support materials.\nMapping textbook content to prescribed learning outcomes and competencies.\nIntegrating contemporary thematic elements into lessons.\nCollaborating with authors, illustrators, designers, production, and rights/permissions teams.\nCoordinating development of textbooks, workbooks, and digital resources to meet deadlines.\nMaintaining version integrity through editorial logs and workflow systems.\nReviewing layouts and proofs for design accuracy, readability, and consistency.\nEnsuring inclusivity, cultural sensitivity, and accessibility across all content.\nImpact of the role\nYour work directly influences the quality of OUP’s English learning products, supporting teachers and students with accurate, inclusive, and engaging resources. The role strengthens OUP’s commitment to educational excellence and ensures our products remain aligned with evolving curricula, pedagogy, and modern classroom needs.\nAbout You\nEssential Criteria\nMaster’s degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.\nExcellent command of written and spoken English.\nStrong editing, proofreading, and attention to detail.\nUnderstanding of ELT methodologies and classroom needs.\nFamiliarity with publishing tools (MS Word, Adobe, etc.) and digital platforms.\nStrong organizational ability, communication skills, teamwork, and adaptability.\nDesirable Criteria\n2-5 years of editorial experience in ELT publishing or school textbook development.\nExperience working with curriculum frameworks and assessment design.\nExposure to both print and digital learning resource development.\nQueries\nPlease contact  with any queries relating to this role.\nWe are committed to supporting diversity in our workforce, and ensuring an inclusive environment where all individuals can thrive.
