If you dream of joining an organization that is small enough for you to be noticed, but big enough to provide you with a meaningful career, then we want to hear from you!\n The House of Commons’ Parliamentary Precinct Operations is currently looking to staff the Cafeteria and Business Operations Manager position.\nThis recruitment and selection process is restricted to employees of Parliamentary Precinct Operations.\nIn this role, you will be responsible for managing cafeteria and retail food service operations across six parliamentary locations, ensuring efficient, high-volume service delivery, operational consistency, financial accountability, and a high-quality client experience. You will lead a team of up to 50 employees responsible for delivering day-to-day cafeteria services, oversee workforce planning and operational performance, and support the continuous improvement of food service operations that serve Members of Parliament, parliamentary partners, employees, and visitors.\nDue to the operational nature of the role and the need to support parliamentary business, you may be required to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and overtime.\nTop Reasons to Join the Food Services team:\nThis is an exciting opportunity to lead a large and well-established team within Food Services and play a key role in shaping the delivery of food services across the parliamentary precinct. In this role, you will have opportunities to build relationships across the organization, influence service delivery, drive operational improvements, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of parliamentary food service operations.\n Education :\nCompletion of post-secondary education in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Business Administration, or a related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training and extensive relevant experience; \nFood Safety Certification. \nExperiences :\nKnowledge of service management, operational planning, budgeting, financial administration, labour planning, and performance monitoring practices;\nExperience managing cafeteria, retail food, or high-volume food service operations in a multi-unit or complex service environment;\nExperience supervising operational teams, coordinating service delivery, and managing employee performance in a fast-paced operational environment;\nExperience implementing operational improvements, service enhancements, or workflow changes to improve efficiency and client service; \nExperience coordinating inventory management, supply replenishment, and operational activities in support of food service delivery;\nExperience ensuring compliance with food safety, HACCP, workplace health and safety standards \nExperience participating in recruitment, onboarding, training, and workforce development activities. \nAssets :\nHACCP training or certification;\nTraining in leadership, retail operations, or business management;\nNote :\nAn extensive level of experience is generally considered to be between five and ten years of relevant experience.\n We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace by providing a barrier-free recruitment and selection process.
