Support the operations and service of the wholesale department. Supervise and motivate staff to uphold high standards in the department. Ensure a well maintained, clean, and efficient operation.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT: Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noises including, but not limited to: equipment, machinery, computers, paging, telephones, and human voices. Regular work near moving mechanical parts (i.e. truck lift, dock, power equipment). Regular work in wet, humid conditions and cold/hot climates. Job related travel within Southeast Wisconsin.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n1. Customer Service\nTreat people fairly, consistently, and with respect.\nEnsure efficient, informative, and friendly service according to established customer service vision and standards.\n\n2. Wholesale Department Responsibilities\nLeadership\nModel supportive and participatory leadership qualities, promote team building and motivate staff to achieve stated objectives.\nTreat all co-workers with consistency and fairness, in a style appropriate to a cooperative work environment.\nEnsure that communications are clear, direct, and respectful.\nEnsure the integrity of Outpost’s stated values in decision-making and interactions with others.\nUse the interest-based problem solving method to resolve issues.\nEnsure professional and friendly service from staff.\nAct as a model to all employees following both the union contract and employee handbook.\n\nDepartment Operations\nManage wholesale back stock inventory on hand and ensure products needed are ordered and delivered.\nProperly record damaged product, credits, and returns.\nAssist with product ordering and other related paperwork.\nStock & Merchandise product at wholesale accounts.\nUphold department safety guidelines to ensure the safety of all department staff.\nAdvise Wholesale & Catering Manager of equipment / replacement needs.\nAttend department meetings as scheduled.\n\nOrdering and Receiving\nStay up to date on the products Outpost carries and new products in the industry.\nFollow the established guidelines in Outpost’s Product and Pricing Policy for new product approval and deletion of slow-selling products.\nUse controlled forward buying when applicable to take advantage of additional discounts.\nOrder from vendors to ensure department par levels are maintained.\nReceive and process deliveries, check product condition and invoice accuracy upon delivery, and ensure proper product rotation.\nEnsure deliveries are stocked in a timely manner.\nEnsure proper handling of products to ensure a safe and quality product.\nAssist with product returns and receive credit from suppliers as needed.\nReport problems with product and/or suppliers to Wholesale & Catering Manager.\nRecommend product line changes, reduction, elimination, sales items, etc. to address brand and market trends.\nAssist in inventory control including: accurate recording of losses and markdown of products, maintaining invoices for accuracy and price changes, and assisting in inventories.\n\nDeliveries and Truck Maintenance\nPrepare and load truck for deliveries. Secure cargo for transit.\nDrive truck to destination. Unload truck and check in with wholesale accounts.\nComplete deliveries on schedule.\nFollow all traffic laws and drive in a courteous and professional manner.\nMaintain truck logs.\nMaintain telephone contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.\nReport all damage and broken equipment upon onset of condition.\nMaintain vehicle in a clean, neat and sanitary condition, wash as needed.\nInspect and maintain truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.\n\nPersonnel\nAssign daily tasks to wholesale staff.\nDevelop and uphold performance standards for staff with assistance from the Wholesale & Catering Manager.\nSchedule staff according to weekly labor budget. Arrange for coverage of vacant shifts and fill in as needed.\nProvide input to the Wholesale & Catering Manager for hiring qualified staff within established policies.\nEnsure training for all department staff. Successfully complete training checklists with new department staff.\nMotivate and provide staff with the tools and materials required to ensure high quality and efficient job performance.\nProvide input on performance evaluations for staff in coordination with the Wholesale & Catering Manager.\nRecommend to Wholesale & Catering Manager corrective counseling measures and/or disciplinary action as needed for all department staff, according to established personnel policies.\nEnsure that department meetings are conducted to maintain effective communication with staff. \n\nOther\nAssist with light maintenance and janitorial duties at Outpost’s wholesale locations.\nAdjust to changing conditions to facilitate the delivery of products to customers.\nAssist Receiving Coordinator when necessary.\n\n3.
