Backed by eight-figure contracts across the Department of Defense, we are strengthening national security by iterating closely with end users engaged in tactical operations.\nRole Summary\nWe are looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter to own and scale hiring for Overland AI's machine learning, AI perception, and robotics engineering teams. This is a full-time role with real impact: you will be the recruiting partner our engineering leaders rely on to find the ML researchers, perception engineers, motion planners, and roboticists who will build the next generation of autonomous ground vehicles.\nThe right person for this role brings deep experience recruiting for hard-to-fill ML and robotics positions and understands what distinguishes a strong perception engineer from a strong generalist. You will partner directly with engineering leadership to shape hiring strategy, build pipelines in competitive talent markets, and close candidates who have plenty of options. This position is based in Seattle, WA.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn full-cycle recruiting for ML, AI perception, robotics, and related engineering roles, from intake and sourcing through offer close.\nPartner with hiring managers and engineering leaders to define requirements, calibrate on candidates, and build hiring plans that match the pace of the business.\nBuild and maintain strong pipelines of qualified candidates through outbound sourcing, referrals, events, and creative engagement strategies.\nDevelop deep knowledge of Overland AI's autonomy stack, ML research areas, and competitive landscape so you can credibly pitch the opportunity to senior ML and robotics talent.\nUse recruiting data (pipeline velocity, conversion rates, source effectiveness) to identify bottlenecks and make informed recommendations to hiring managers and leadership.\nDrive a high-quality candidate experience through clear communication, fast feedback loops, and thoughtful engagement at every stage.\nAct as a trusted advisor to hiring managers on market conditions, compensation benchmarking, and candidate assessment.\nContribute to the buildout of scalable recruiting infrastructure: processes, tooling, interview frameworks, and documentation as the company grows.\nMinimum Requirements\n4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a meaningful portion spent hiring for machine learning, computer vision, robotics, or related AI/autonomy roles.\nDemonstrated success sourcing and closing competitive technical candidates who have multiple offers on the table.\nStrong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence hiring decisions and build trust with technical leaders and executives.\nExperience managing a high volume of open requisitions simultaneously with strong organization and follow-through.\nProficiency with ATS platforms (we use Rippling) and sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, and referral programs.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor your message to candidates ranging from ML PhD new grads to staff-level robotics engineers.\nComfort operating with high autonomy in an environment where processes are still being built.\nDesired Experience\nExperience recruiting ML engineers, perception engineers, or robotics engineers in defense tech, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, or adjacent deep-tech industries.\nExperience in both agency and in-house recruiting environments.\nFamiliarity with cleared hiring processes or recruiting for roles that require U.S. citizenship or security clearances.\nFamiliarity with the ML/AI talent landscape, including understanding of relevant research communities, conferences (NeurIPS, CVPR, ICRA, RSS), and PhD hiring pipelines.\nTrack record of building recruiting processes from scratch at a scaling startup.\nCompensation & Benefits\nSalary range: $120,000 - $170,000 USD, depending on experience.\nFull-time employees are eligible for our complete benefits package:\nBest-in-class healthcare, dental, and vision plans\nFlexible PTO\n401(k) with company match\nParental leave\nEquity participation\nLocation\nThis position is located in Seattle, WA.\nOverland AI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
