Our OverDrive autonomy stack is already operating under contract with DARPA, the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and Special Operations Command, and the perception challenges we face look nothing like a self-driving car on a highway.\nWe're looking for perception engineers who want to make vehicles see and understand environments where there are no lane markings, no traffic signs, and no structured surfaces to rely on.\nExperienced, well-qualified remote candidates able to work during Pacific Time Zone business hours will be considered.\nIn this role, you will:\nDesign, prototype, and deploy perception/deep learning algorithms (e.g., object detection and tracking, surface reconstruction, visual odometry) that run real-time on our autonomous vehicles.\nIdentify, implement, and respond to meaningful metrics that affect vehicle behavior.\nSupport experimentation and integration of the perception stack with new sensors and configurations.\nCollaborate closely with experts across disciplines to work across the entire stack to improve the reliability and performance of the system.\nQualifications\nBS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or similar and 2+ years of experience (industry or academia) implementing perception algorithms\nPreferred: top-tier publications in CV and Robotics conferences and/or past experience working with lidars and cameras\n\nExpert in ROS 2 or other similar robotics middleware.\nStrong programming (Python or C++) skills and experience in a deep learning framework such as Pytorch, JAX, Tensorflow, etc.\nYou excel in a small-team atmosphere, taking ownership of problems and working with your colleagues to solve problems across disciplines. \nAbility to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance.\nBenefits\nOverland AI believes in creating a work environment that you look forward to embracing every day.\nThe salary range for this position is $120K to $300K annually\nEquity compensation\nBest-in-class healthcare, dental and vision plans. \nUnlimited PTO\n401k with company match\nParental leave\nOverland AI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
