We’re a small, fast-moving team, and we’re looking for an exceptional Product Engineer to help build the next generation of Overlap.\nThe Role\nYou’ll work directly with the founders and have significant ownership over what we build and how we build it.\nThis is not a narrowly scoped frontend or backend role. You’ll work across the product and engineering stack, taking features from idea → production and working closely with the customers using them.\nYou’ll:\nBuild and ship core product features across our Next.js frontend and Python backend\nTurn customer problems into products\nBuild AI-native product experiences and agentic workflows\nOwn projects end-to-end: architecture, implementation, deployment, and iteration\nImprove the performance and reliability of our infrastructure\nWork across our Google Cloud stack\nContribute to product and interface design\nMove quickly, talk to users, and ship constantly\nYou’ll have an unusual amount of autonomy and responsibility from day one.\nWho We're Looking For\nWe care much more about how good you are at building than how many years you’ve been doing it.\nYou’re likely a strong fit if you:\nHave built and deployed real web products\nAre an excellent programmer and problem solver\nProficient in using frontier coding agents\nMove quickly without sacrificing quality\nAre comfortable owning ambiguous problems with little hand-holding\nHave strong product instincts and care about the details users notice\nThrive in a high-intensity startup environment\nEspecially Valuable\nExperience building products 0→1\nExceptional proficiency with AI coding tools and agentic development workflows\nExperience with Next.js, React, Python, or FastAPI\nExperience with GCP, Firebase, Kubernetes, or cloud infrastructure\nExperience building with LLMs, multimodal AI, video, or machine learning systems\nStrong design instincts or experience with Figma\nPrevious startup or high-ownership engineering experience\nYou do not need to check every box.
