Our goal is to meet the highest employer standards by ensuring the health and safety of our employees, protecting the environment and positively impacting our communities where we do business.\nWe are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position ofAutomationSpecialist within our Permian EOR Plants group based in Denver City, TX.\nEssential Job Responsibilities\nPerform maintenance activities at a local level; directly manage maintenance vendors and support services.\nRepresent theAutomationteam in plant maintenance-related correspondence.\nUnderstand the plant process, equipment, and design that best support the Plant team.\nPerform both corrective and predictive maintenance on allautomationequipment.\nAccountable for maintenance cost tracking and reporting.\nProvide accurate quotes forautomationand maintenance projects.\nEnsure all PM documentation is accurate and complete for allautomationequipment and stored in a central location.\nPerform operational and maintenance support of analyzers in the plant (GCs, CEMS, Dewpoint, O2).\nCommunicate all maintenance activities with the Plant Planner and Scheduler Team.\nMentor and train juniorAutomationTechnicians on process flow and PLC, HMI, and end device troubleshooting.\nRespond and provideautomationsupport during all outages.\nWork off of assigned schedule and maintain no out-of-compliance work orders.\nProvide Plant DCS and PLC troubleshooting support.\nProvide analytical support on plant problems and input on new technologies.\nEnsure plants are maintained in an orderly manner, including proper management of PLC programs, PLC panel wiring, and cleanliness ofautomationequipment.\nSkills\nExpert level understanding ofautomationand electrical design principles.\nUnderstanding of PSSRs and MOCs.\nExtensive expertise in EOR safe work systems.\nExtensive expertise of Electrical/Automationconstruction codes and practices.\nExtensive knowledge of materialspecifications and application.\nUnderstanding of regulatory guidelines.\nStrong leadership and mentoring skills.\nAbility to perform under pressure and work effectively within a team environment.\nAdvanced computer skills (MS Office Suite, Oxy proprietary software, etc.).\nKnowledgeable with tagging conventions, programming simulation, and testing.\nStrong time management, written, oral, and project management skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nKnowledge of DCS and PLC; understanding of digital and analog I/O, programming, and troubleshooting.\nQualifications\n2-year technical degree or equivalent working experience required.\nExpert knowledge of oil and gasautomationsystems.\nCompetent knowledge of oil and gas process facilities.\nMinimum of 5 years of Oil and Gas experience.\nMinimum of 2 years of Oil and GasAutomationexperience.\nIntermediate knowledge of well RTU designs, programming, and troubleshooting.\nIntermediate knowledge of analog and discrete instrumentation, and various serial and Ethernet communication protocols.\nIntermediate knowledge of technical standards and guidelines (API, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, etc.).\nBasic knowledge of maintaining PLC programs in function block, ladder logic, and structured text.\nBasic knowledge of maintaining local HMI operator interfaces.\nAbility and willingness to travel to unassigned job areas on an as-needed basis.\nWorks safely around instrumentation and electrical systems with the ability to work with limited supervision.\nAdditional Desired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree inAutomation, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline preferred.\n5+ years of Oil and Gas experience with strong electrical background and state-accredited license.\n1+ years of upstream oil and gasautomationexperience.\nExperience with Allen-Bradley & Rosemount equipment.\nAbility to read and understand Cause & Effects, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control narratives.\nBasic ability to troubleshoot control networks for well sites, well pads, tank batteries, saltwater disposal, and compressor stations (ControlNet, Ethernet I/P, network switches, fiber optics, RF communications).\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with management, technical, and field personnel.\nRecruitment Fraud\nIt has come to our attention various individuals and/or organizations are contacting people falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of Oxy.
