The position will be based in New Mexico Delaware Basin (Carlsbad, NM Area).\nRoles & Responsibilities -\nThis position is accountable, cooperatively with other line functions, to meet the goals of Occidental Oil & Gas in Safety, Environmental and Production. Contribution to meet these goals will be achieved by maintaining the workplace in a safe and reliable condition in addition to, but not limited to, the following:\nMaintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate, as our highest priority\nAssure compliance to Policy and Procedure expectations/standards (MOC’s, PSSR’s, Procedures, Audits, etc.)\nEnsure others including yourself, are respected, supported and encouraged to grow and succeed in their job\nExecute the high-speed compressor maintenance program and maintenance practices\nMaintain the assigned tools, equipment and parts inventory to execute the high-speed compressor maintenance program and maintenance practices\nManage backlog of work orders to maintain compressor uptime and reliability\nProvide technical expertise to identify ways to reduce costs, and improve process uptime and mechanical reliability\nSupport compression surveillance to maximize uptime and throughput\nSupport OPEX reduction and compression optimization initiatives\nResponsible for housekeeping and safety in assigned work and areas\nUpon Supervisory approval, coordinate the use of contract resources to accomplish the Teams mission\nCooperate with other company groups to meet business goals\nQualifications -\nHigh School Diploma or G.E.D. required\nMust have valid driver's license with a good driving record\nMinimum of 1-3 years industrial maintenance experience in maintaining and repairing rotating equipment (i.e. Pumps, Compressors, VRUs)\nExperience in maintaining and repairing of high-speed compressors and engines in the horsepower range of 500 to 2500 HP (preferred)\nThorough knowledge of oil and gas industry surface equipment types and applications\nAbility to troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform root cause failure analysis\nCapable of basic troubleshooting of automation and electrical equipment\nStrong teamwork and interpersonal skills\nGood knowledge of SAP and Microsoft office software (preferred)\nSafety and Physical Requirements -\nThis role is occasionally subject to possible hazards (e.g.--chemical, extreme heat or cold, exposed heights)\nAbility to travel to all areas in the facility which may require climbing, ascending and descending stairs traveling long distances as required\nLifting, carrying, stooping and reaching\nAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required\nAbility to respond to audible and visual alarms\nAbility to communicate verbally and or in written form\nRecruitment Fraud\nIt has come to our attention various individuals and/or organizations are contacting people falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of Oxy.
