Our goal is to meet the highest employer standards by ensuring the health and safety of our employees, protecting the environment and positively impacting our communities where we do business.\nWe are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Financial Analyst within our Midstream & Marketing group based in Houston, TX.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statement and balance sheet analysis, with an emphasis on Midstream & Marketing activities\nStrong ability to interpret large datasets and identify trends in market data\nConduct variance analysis compared to outlook, budget, and previous periods, and communicate key drivers to management using dashboards and visual summaries\nSupport monthly close activities by handling accruals, estimates, and tie-outs, ensuring results accuratelyreflect operational activity in accordance with accrual accounting principles\nMaintain and review balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and work withAccounting to resolve issues promptly\nDevelop, maintain, and enhance management reporting tools, including automated reports and analytics to improve efficiency and provide deeper insights\nWorking closely with other departments in recording and analyzing financial data\nAssisting with internal and external audit requests, as well as other special projects\nOther duties as required\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related degree\n3 to 5 years Corporate Accounting Experience (would consider 2-3 years of Public Accounting)\nStrong analytical and communication skills\nAbility to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlines\nPrior experience in Midstream, Marketing, Energy, or Commodity-based businesses\nSelf-motivated and strong work ethic\nAbility to analyze data and reach own conclusions\nExposure to forecasting, budget, outlook, or planning processes\nExperience with inventory valuation or commodity margin analysis\nIndependent thinker with the ability to problem solve\nTakes accountability and strives to increase results\nAbility to work Overtime required for monthly closing activities\nDesired Qualifications:\nMidstream& Marketing Oil and Gas experience/background a plus\nExperience with SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI) a plus\nSAP & Microsoft Excel experience a plus\nRelocation will not be provided.\nRecruitment Fraud\nIt has come to our attention various individuals and/or organizations are contacting people falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of Oxy.
