Our goal is to meet the highest employer standards by ensuring the health and safety of our employees, protecting the environment and positively impacting our communities where we do business.\nThe Senior HR Business Partner will be part of the Human Resources team based in Houston, TX supporting the US Onshore Resources and Carbon Management (ORCM) business segment.\nResponsibilities:\nProvides HR support to a client base, ranging from 100 to 500 employees located in multiple locations across CO, NM, and TX for US. Onshore Oil and Gas.\nProvides appropriate balance between employee advocacy and responsibility to act as a business partner in advising management on effective ways to resolve employee issues.\nSupports the health, safety, environment, and security objectives of the business for the protection of its employees and the communities in which the company operates.\nServe as a strategic HR advisor to operational leaders, aligning people strategies with business goals and operational priorities.\nPartner with leaders on workforce planning, staffing strategies, organizational design, and capability development.\nFacilitate talent discussions and support the execution of talent processes, including succession planning, performance management, development planning, and retention strategies.\nUse HR data and insights to identify trends, assess risks, and recommend actions that improve organizational effectiveness.\nProvide guidance on employee relations matters, performance management, policy interpretation, and corrective action.\nCoach leaders on effective people management, communication, accountability, and team development.\nSupport timely and consistent resolution of workplace concerns in alignment with policy and business needs.\nPartner with Talent Acquisition to ensure effective recruitment and onboarding for key roles within assigned groups.\nMaintain regular communication and visibility with field and office employees to support engagement and operational continuity.\nCollaborate with cross-functional partners (Compensation, HR Operations, Legal, HSE, Occupational Health) to deliver consistent HR solutions.\nSupport organizational initiatives, change efforts, and HR projects enhancing employee experience and operational performance.\nEnsure HR practices comply with applicable federal and state laws.\nAssist with workforce reporting, analyses, and documentation as needed.\nTravel up to 30% to field locations and offices as business needs require.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related academic field.\n10+ years of HR generalist or HRBP experience, preferably in operations-heavy environments.\nStrong capability in employee relations, leader coaching, and organizational effectiveness.\nStrong analytical skills with the ability to build justifications using data through interpretation of data, manipulation of data to provide and develop actionable efforts i.e. programs, policies, procedures to pro-actively support business needs.\nExcellent written and verbal communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.\nDemonstrate good judgement. \nExperience and comfort in consulting with line managers; ability to provide candid and direct feedback.\nPassion to help define and enhance existing processes.\nTeam player with excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position.\nAbility to remain flexible and shift priorities quickly.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and sound judgment.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms (Workday preferred).\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience with reporting tools such as Power BI. \nExperience supporting field, plant, or industrial operations.\nExperience supporting geographically dispersed teams in oil & gas or similar industries.\nRecruitment Fraud\nIt has come to our attention various individuals and/or organizations are contacting people falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of Oxy.
