Our goal is to meet the highest employer standards by ensuring the health and safety of our employees, protecting the environment, and positively impacting communities where we do business.\nWe are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Tax Advisor Sr within our Tax Department group based in Tulsa, OK.\nKey Responsibilities:\nInteract regularly with Company accounting and financial reporting personnel to obtain a working knowledge of oil and gas transactions, from both accounting and operating perspectives.\nAnalyze data to calculate tax impacts from both a tax provision and tax compliance perspective.\nParticipate in the preparation of the quarterly tax provision including analysis of tax accounts and reserves.\nPrepare and communicate the components of the effective tax rate movements period over period.\nStay current on new guidance issued by the FASB related to ASC 740.\nAssist in the preparation of the tax footnote within the quarterly Form 10-Q and annual Form 10-K, including the tax rate reconciliation and deferred inventory.\nPerform tax research as needed.\nAssist with gathering data needed to address IRS and external auditor inquiries.\nAddress tax accounting related inquiries from various stakeholders both inside and outside of the Company.\nIdentify, calculate and track uncertain tax positions.\nIdentify ways to improve and streamline processes.\nParticipate in special projects as needed.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Business or Finance, with a preference in Accounting.\nCPA candidate\nMinimum of 5 years income tax related and/or public accounting experience preferred.\nStrong knowledge of U.S. tax laws, with strong working knowledge of ASC 740 preferred.\nStrong knowledge of financial statement mechanics.\nExperience with U.S. Federal tax provisions and compliance.\nExperience preparing tax footnote and related disclosures for Form 10-K and Form 10-Q.\nStrong interpersonal skills\nWilling to cross train within the tax department.\nFlexible to overtime\nStrong computer skills (SAP, CorpTax, Excel, Word)\nDesired Qualifications:\nMaster of Taxation or equivalent degree\nCPA\nPrior energy income tax experience\nRelocation will not be provided.\nRecruitment Fraud\nIt has come to our attention various individuals and/or organizations are contacting people falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of Oxy.
