We’re building technology to transform those operations alongside some of the largest insurers in the world.\nRole\nWe’re looking for a Business Operations generalist to help build the systems and processes behind Pace’s next stage of growth.\nYou’ll work directly across finance, hiring, internal operations, and special projects. You might build a financial model to inform an investment decision, improve how we hire and onboard, or take a new business initiative from an open question to execution.\nYour scope will evolve with the company. We’re looking for someone who can identify what matters, bring structure to unfamiliar problems, and take responsibility for getting the work done.\nResponsibilities\nBuild financial discipline: Support budgeting and forecasting, track spending and runway, manage invoicing and vendor payments, and coordinate with external accounting partners.\n\nDrive special projects: Research new opportunities, develop business cases, and lead initiatives across teams with clear decisions, owners, and timelines.\n\nSupport company planning: Track business performance, prepare leadership and investor materials, and help translate company priorities into plans teams can execute.\n\nHelp grow the team: Partner with hiring managers on recruiting processes, candidate experience, and onboarding.\n\nImprove internal operations: Manage vendors, tools, and administrative workflows, coordinating with legal and other external partners where needed.\n\nBuild with AI: Automate repetitive work and turn useful experiments into reliable tools and processes.\n\nYour background\nExperience in startup operations, consulting, finance, or another role requiring analytical thinking and independent execution.\n\nConfidence working with financial models, spreadsheets, and business data, and explaining what the numbers mean.\n\nEvidence of taking an ambiguous problem through to a practical result.\n\nClear writing, strong organization, and good judgment when handling sensitive information.\n\nWillingness to move between planning and detailed execution, from evaluating a business opportunity to resolving an invoice.\n\nNice to have\nExperience building internal processes at a growing technology company.\n\nExposure to financial planning, recruiting operations, or board reporting.\n\nExperience creating automations or internal tools.\n\nTeam characteristics\nIntegrity: We value thoughtful people who earn trust, keep their commitments, and care about the quality of their work.\nAmbition: Our goal is a $100bn+ business spanning vertical services.
