This position combines hands-on manufacturing quality support with responsibilities for maintaining and improving the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).\nThe Quality Technician will perform inspections, support problem-solving and corrective actions, maintain quality documentation, assist with audits, and ensure controlled documents are current, accurate, and available at the point of use. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment and understands quality systems, document control, inspection methods, and continuous improvement.\nKey Responsibilities\nQuality Management System\n· Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System.\n· Maintain awareness of applicable ISO, customer, and internal quality requirements.\n· Assist with internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.\n· Maintain quality records and ensure required documentation is completed accurately and retained according to established procedures.\n· Assist with corrective action, preventive action, and continuous improvement activities.\n· Track quality issues, corrective actions, and follow-up activities to ensure timely completion.\n· Assist in maintaining quality metrics and reports, including scrap, rework, customer complaints, first-pass yield, and other applicable KPIs.\n· Assist with process audits and layered process audits.\nDocument Control\n· Maintain controlled copies of procedures, work instructions, inspection instructions, forms, specifications, and other QMS documentation.\n· Review documents for accuracy, completeness, revision level, and approval status.\n· Process document revisions and ensure changes are properly reviewed and approved.\n· Update controlled documents when manufacturing processes, equipment, specifications, or customer requirements change.\n· Remove obsolete documents from points of use and ensure only current revisions are available to employees.\n· Maintain document revision history and supporting records.\n· Coordinate document updates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, and other affected departments.\n· Assist employees in locating current procedures, work instructions, and forms.\n· Support periodic reviews of controlled documents to ensure they remain accurate and effective.\nQuality Inspection & Manufacturing Support\n· Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections using established inspection procedures and customer specifications.\n· Utilize calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM equipment, optical measurement systems, and other inspection equipment as required.\n· Review engineering drawings, specifications, control plans, inspection instructions, and customer requirements.\n· Support production personnel with quality questions and provide guidance regarding product and process requirements.\n· Identify nonconforming material and assist with containment, disposition, and corrective actions.\n· Maintain accurate inspection and quality records.\n· Perform first-piece, last-piece, and periodic production inspections as required.\n· Support measurement system and gauge calibration activities.\nProblem Solving & Continuous Improvement\n· Participate in root-cause analysis using tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, Pareto analysis, and other problem-solving methods.\n· Support corrective and preventive action activities.\n· Assist with containment and root-cause investigations for internal and customer quality issues.\n· Participate in process improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.\n· Identify recurring quality problems and communicate trends to Quality and Operations leadership.\n· Assist with developing and updating control plans, inspection plans, and standard work.\n· Work closely with production teams to identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, variation, and customer defects.\nQualifications\nRequired\n· High school diploma or equivalent.\n· 2+ years of manufacturing quality experience preferred.\n· Experience working in a manufacturing environment.\n· Understanding of basic quality inspection methods and measurement equipment.\n· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.\n· Experience with quality documentation and record keeping.\n· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.\n· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.\n· Ability to communicate effectively with production, engineering, and management personnel.\nPreferred\n· Experience with an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.\n· Experience with document control systems or QMS software.\n· Experience with corrective action and root-cause analysis.\n· Experience with internal or customer audits.\n· Experience with control plans, PFMEA, inspection plans, and work instructions.\n· Experience with statistical process control (SPC).\n· Experience with GD&T.\n· Experience with CMM or other automated inspection equipment.\n· Experience in die casting, CNC machining, metalworking, or other discrete manufacturing environments.\n· ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or similar
