Market conditions, budgetary considerations, and organizational compensation guidelines may also influence the final offer.\nNOTE: This role is in Columbus, OH\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nProvides maintenance, diagnosis and repairs of HPLC, UPLC, GC and/or IC systems.\nProvides calibration and qualification of HPLC, UPLC, GC and/or IC systems.\nRecommends and implements improvements to HPLC, UPLC, GC and/or IC systems.\nSources and orders supplies and parts to ensure inventory of consumables and repair parts for instruments, as needed.\nInteracts with customers/staff to provide analytical instrument support, explanation of troubleshooting results, and solutions based on troubleshooting.\nParticipates in cross-functional project or program objective and other project requirements, receives direction and presents information to management.\nProvides standard research, feedback and decisions to resolve customer/management and employee questions and requirements; assists with receiving vendor feedback and coordinating resources and responses as required.\nFollows Standard Operating Procedures and methods to perform work.\nEnsures the accuracy of equipment, actions, procedures and operational databases, reports, and related details through audits, queries, and operational reviews; works with teams to resolve discrepancies; resolves discrepancies or escalates discrepancies to ensure quality assurance in equipment.\nContributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.\nPromotes and supports the overall mission of Pace Analytical by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with customers and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.\nOvernight travel Up to 15% of the time\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, electronics, or a closely related field and at least 3 years analytical instrument experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.\nRequired Knowledge and Skills\nRequired Knowledge:\nKnowledge of laboratory and analytical instrumentation, HPLC, UPLC, GC and/or IC systems.\nKnowledge of metrology standards.\nPrinciples, practices, and techniques to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems on HPLC, UPLC, GC and/or IC systems.\nExperience with Agilent/Waters LC and UPLC systems and/or Thermo IC instruments, preferred\nKnowledge in testing tools, instruments and calibration.\nMethods to resolve area problems, questions, and concerns.\nComprehensive understanding of applicable area laws, codes, and regulations.\nComputer applications and systems related to the work.\nMethods to communicate with staff, coworkers, and customers to ensure safe, effective and appropriate operations.\nCorrect business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.\nRequired Skills:\nPerforming instrumentation diagnostics and troubleshooting.\nAdministering instrument, mechanical, electrical, and software-based functions.\nOperating in both a team and individual contributor environment\nInterpreting, applying and explaining applicable laws, codes, and regulations.\nPreparing functionals reports, correspondence, and other written materials.\nUsing initiative and independent judgment within established department guidelines.\nUsing tact, discretion, and prudence in working with those contacted in the course of the work.\nContributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.\nEstablishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of individuals contacted in the course of the work.\nFind Your Place at Pace - We need you - your curiosity, your talents, and your drive - to help us advance this important work.\nBenefits\nWhen you join Pace®, you commit to work that makes a positive impact on our communities and our world.
