This Associate Scientist will work under the guidance of senior scientists to execute formulation development studies for sterile injectable and freeze-dried (lyophilized) drug products.\nCompensation: $23.00 - 25.00/hr\nNOTE: This role is expected to last 12 months\nResponsibilities\nDesign, execute, monitor, and document early developability and pre-formulation assessments, including stress testing, compounding screening, and formulation development studies\nEnsure experimental work is well designed, executed, and documented with clear objectives and high-quality scientific standards\nOrganize and execute accelerated and real-time stability studies in accordance with established methods, protocols, and applicable regulatory guidelines\nUtilize biophysical and analytical tools, including DSC, DLS, Zetasizer, viscometry, and particle analysis, to characterize drug candidates and evaluate physicochemical properties\nSupport process development activities for a variety of dosage forms, including sterile injectable and lyophilized products\nAccurately collect, organize, analyze, and interpret experimental data to support formulation and process development decisions\nIndependently operate and perform basic troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment relevant to assigned work\nRecognize, communicate, and support the investigation of atypical results, equipment issues, and experimental deviations as needed\nAccurately document experimental work in electronic laboratory notebooks in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)\nCollaborate with scientists, cross-functional teams, and manufacturing partners to support the successful translation of laboratory findings into development programs\nParticipate in project meetings and contribute technical input, study updates, and experimental findings\nAdapt to evolving project priorities and support multiple studies in a dynamic research and development environment\nMaintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory work environment and encourage safe laboratory practices\nContributes to a cohesive team environment and maintains a positive attitude\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline\n1-3 years of relevant experience (including internships or undergraduate research) in a laboratory setting, preferably involving biologics or biopharmaceutical products.\nDirect experience working with standard laboratory equipment and aseptic technique\nStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and high learning agility\nAbility to work independently and collaborate within cross-functional teams\nEffective written and verbal communication skills for documenting and presenting technical data\nDemonstrated ownership with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently\nAdditional Preferences:\nFamiliarity with or exposure to analytical characterization techniques (e.g., SEC, HPLC, DLS, DSC, etc.)\nExposure to protein formulation or lyophilization (freeze-drying) processes\nExperience using basic statistical tools or Excel for data organization and visualization\nExperience maintaining electronic laboratory notebooks\nAbility to adapt flexibly and work effectively with others\nMotivation to learn and grow within pharmaceutical science and development\nFind Your Place at Pace - We need you - your curiosity, your talents, and your drive - to help us advance this important work.\nBenefits\nWhen you join Pace®, you commit to work that makes a positive impact on our communities and our world.
