Provides feedback and guidance to employees and management using advanced to expert professional and technical knowledge of functional areas, equipment, testing, and procedures.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nServes as a lead to staff, including providing work direction, guidance, and training.\n\nOversees or reviews the completion and processing of complex forms, documents, databases, and related materials.\n\nProvides advanced to expert analysis, interpretation, and guidance to staff, management, and functional leaders regarding policies, programs, and practices; supports implementation and operational change.\n\nConducts research and provides recommendations to resolve employee, management, and customer issues; coordinates resources and responses as needed.\n\nAnalyzes operations, results, and feedback to identify trends, interpret findings, and present recommendations and solutions to management.\n\nEnsures accuracy of testing, equipment, procedures, databases, and reports through audits, reviews, and collaboration to resolve discrepancies.\n\nAssists in developing and participating in area or cross-functional projects, including budgets, timelines, materials, and staffing considerations; presents updates to leadership.\n\nInterprets and applies department policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations, seeking guidance as needed.\n\nContributes to department effectiveness by offering suggestions and participating as an active team member.\n\nPromotes and supports the mission of Pace Analytical through professional and cooperative interaction with customers and staff.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor's degree in area of assignment or a closely related field (chemistry, meterology, environmental science); AND at least eight (8) years of experience, including at least two (2) years of experience with highly specialized or technical programs or operations; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Masters or PhD degree is strongly preferred.\nRequired Knowledge and Skills\nRequired Knowledge:\nAdvanced to expert principles, practices, and techniques within the assigned area.\n\nComprehensive understanding of program administration, policies, and procedures.\n\nAdvanced methods for resolving complex technical and operational issues.\n\nKnowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.\n\nFamiliarity with testing tools, equipment, and calibration processes.\n\nRelevant computer applications and systems.\n\nPrinciples and practices of effective teamwork.\n\nEffective communication methods for working with staff and customers.\n\nProper use of business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.\n\nRequired Skills:\nPerforming advanced to expert-level professional duties across assigned areas.\n\nManaging and administering complex functions and operations.\n\nTraining and developing staff on policies and procedures.\n\nContributing to project development and management as a team member.\n\nOperating effectively in both team-based and independent environments.\n\nInterpreting and applying applicable laws, codes, and regulations.\n\nPreparing advanced technical reports, correspondence, and documentation.\n\nExercising initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.\n\nDemonstrating professionalism, tact, and discretion in all interactions.\n\nDelivering effective presentations to various audiences.\n\nContributing to team goals and organizational objectives.\n\nBuilding and maintaining strong working relationships.\n\nPHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:\nThe physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
