As a member of the Pacific Defense group of companies, our growth is accelerating. Pacific Defense designs and builds advanced, military standards-based, modular open systems architecture (MOSA) systems. These systems conform to the Army's C4ISR Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) and the Air Force's Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) Standard. These CMOSS /SOSA systems are used for multi-mission electronic warfare, tactical communications, signals intelligence, cyber-EW, high performance computing and often simultaneous operation of these capabilities.\nWho are we looking for?\nPacific Defense is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer - EW with the ability to lead and execute complex programs across the business. Pacific Defense has organized into an integrated CMOSS Solutions, Electronic Warfare and Space business areas. Within these business areas there are many products that support them including Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) products, Communications products (VLF through SHF and beyond), Electronic Warfare Systems, and others. This Systems Engineer will specialize in the Electronic Warfare business area but can support across all of them, dependent on the qualifications and desires of applicants and the needs of the business. Pacific Defense believes deeply in matching the job to the person.\nRequirements\nRequirements\nPassion for both program startup and test and integration.\nA proven drive for rigor in system and subsystem verification.\nSkills needed for program startup including requirement generation, allocation, and verification.\nLab experience to support/lead the Integration and Test efforts up to and including verification/validation/acceptance with a focus on automation in testing.\nExperience with Electronic Warfare (comms and/or non-comms), PNT, and Communications waveforms.\nProven field experience that demonstrates the ability to understand customer use cases and to rapidly adapt to changing needs.\nPerform supporting analysis needed for proposals and documentation.\nBe a voice into the direction of product development and future pursuits.\nWork solutions to program problems across the company.\nSupport new business initiatives as required to include contribution to technical content, distribution, and collection/validation of Engineering artifacts across all Engineering disciplines.\nMentorship and growth of System Engineers.\nRequired Skills\nCommunications and Non-Communications Electronic Support (ES) and Electronic Attack (EA) System development and deployment experience.\nCommunications and Non-Communications signal properties, their detection, measurement, identification, and degradation, disruption, and denial.\nExpertise in EW System verification using standard test equipment and special purpose subsystems.\nStrong preference for hands-on work.\nUnderstanding of Open Systems standards and experience using them (SOSA, CMOSS, MORA, VICTORY).\nPossess acute attention to detail and be proactive and self-motivating.\nWillingness to help refine processes and procedures to optimize rapid but assured system realization in a growing small company atmosphere.\nExperience with hardware architecture, specification, design, integration, and testing, especially transceivers, amplifier subsystems, and antenna subsystems\nAbility to work with customers to develop and document system requirements.\nDemonstrate a strong understanding of hardware engineering, electrical engineering, electronics, computer architectures, and software architecture.\nCoordinate work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.\nAbility to design, analyze, and evaluate hardware products.\nExperience following processes to ensure quality and predictability of hardware development.\nDevelop models or simulations and apply advanced computer programs, analytical techniques, or control strategies to effectively meet requirements and resolve problems.\nCritical thinker, with prudent risk tolerance to balance risk and technology with requirements, cost, and schedule.\nCompetitive spirit accepting of challenges with a willingness to learn and recover from mistakes.\nWillingness to learn and explore on your own, and travel, when necessary, in support of business goals.\nStrong desire to work at a smaller company free of many of the “big company” roadblocks.\nStrong written and oral communication skills with experience presenting technical material.\nPreferred Experience\n5+ years of experience\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or other relevant technical field.\nBenefits\nPacific Defense provides competitive salaries and immediately vested 401K match.
