It’s a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future - including your own.\nWe’re actively seeking a talented Vulnerability Assessment Engineer to join our Cyber Operations Team in Newport Beach, CA.\nAs a Vulnerability Assessment Engineer, you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by contributing to our vulnerability management service by assisting with operational tasks such as vulnerability analysis, technology administration, process design, and internal customer support. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of nine people in the Enterprise Functions division. Your colleagues will include analysts, engineers, and fellow cybersecurity professionals. \nHow you’ll help move us forward:\nPerform daily operation of enterprise vulnerability assessment activities across on-premises, cloud, endpoint, network, and application environments.\nAdminister and optimize vulnerability management technologies, including scanning platforms, asset discovery capabilities, and risk-based vulnerability management solutions.\nOversee scan scheduling, credential management, exception handling, and validation processes.\nMonitor and improve vulnerability identification effectiveness through continual tuning and enhancement of assessment methodologies.\nAuthor, update, and maintain procedures and work instructions.\nThe experience you bring:\n2+ years of experience within information security that includes experience within vulnerability management.\nExperience with the vulnerability management tools such as vulnerability scanners, cloud security, attack-surface monitoring and integrating ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).\nUnderstanding of vulnerability exploitation attacks, ability to assess risk and coordinate effective response.\nFlexible and adaptable self-starter with strong relationship-building skills.\nWhat makes you stand out:\nRelevant certifications such as Security+, PenTest+, CEH, GWAPT, GPEN or equivalent experience and skills.\nStrong understanding of several technologies including vulnerability assessment and vulnerability prioritization tools.\nFamiliarity with assessing vulnerabilities within cloud environments.\nOnline community profiles for cybersecurity training programs such as HacktheBox or TryHackMe.\nYou can be who you are.\nWe are committed to a culture of diversity and inclusion that embraces the authenticity of all employees, partners and communities. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location.
