The Fabricating Supervisor is responsible for managing activities on the assigned shift in an efficient and safe manner. \n\nPRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: \n\nCoordinate activity with the Production Manager and Shift Supervisor to plan and manage shift work orders, ensure quality requirements, and assure an even flow of work through the fabrication department to increase up-time and minimize unscheduled downtime. \n\nSchedule work, coordinate production activities, provide direct oversight of employees, approve time records, communicate and implement company policy. Engage in employee development activities, make recommendations on employee hire, promotion, and disciplinary action. \n\nMaintain a clean, safe and injury-free work environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are understood and executed by all employees. \n\nConduct employee training on all equipment, protocols, production standards, safety regulations and waste control on an ongoing basis. \n\nEnsure completion of departmental operations within guidelines of continuous improvement policies. \n\nSupervise efficient operation of equipment including the inspection of materials, products and equipment to detect and/or prevent malfunctions. \n\nAnalyze fabricating performance, identify opportunities, make recommendations for process and equipment improvement, establish goals and execute strategy. \n\nParticipate in production meeting and provide updates as needed. \n\nVerify the quality of the jobs and investigate any customer complaints regarding finishing quality. \n\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS: \n\nHigh school diploma or GED. \n\n2+ years’ of corrugated manufacturing experience. \n\nAbility to work flexible hours when needed. \n\nMust be authorized to work in the U.S.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: \n\nSome college or manufacturing training. \n\nPrevious supervisory experience with training, teambuilding, performance development, and conflict resolution. \n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: \n\nWorking knowledge of standard corrugated and packaging manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures including continual improvement processes and safety practices. \n\nKnowledge of the machinery, methods and procedures in the department under supervision. \n\nWorking knowledge of manufacturing systems including shop floor software. \n\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests. \n\nStrong interpersonal skills to effectively lead and communicate with production team and management. \n\nAbility to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently. \n\nSolid analytical and mechanical ability. \n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills. \n\nPrevious work experience as a member of a team, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing between team
