To us, packaging is much more than a box-it’s delivering what’s right for our customers, their customers, our people, and the planet.\nAbout the Role\nThe Manufacturing Engineer - Machine Assembly Operations is responsible for developing, improving, and supporting manufacturing processes for the assembly of industrial machinery and mechanical systems. This role ensures efficient, high-quality assembly operations by designing process flows, specifying tools and fixtures, and troubleshooting technical issues on the shop floor.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDevelop and optimize assembly processes for complex machines and mechanical systems.\n\nDesign and implement tools, jigs, and fixtures to improve assembly efficiency and accuracy.\n\nCreate and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) specific to machine assembly.\n\nSupport production teams with technical guidance and real-time problem solving for mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic assembly issues.\n\nCollaborate with Design Engineering to ensure manufacturability of new or modified machine designs.\n\nLead continuous improvement initiatives in assembly operations, focusing on cycle time reduction, quality improvements, and ergonomic safety.\n\nAnalyze downtime and process bottlenecks to recommend and implement corrective actions.\n\nAssist with layout planning, equipment selection, and workstation design for assembly lines or cells.\n\nEnsure compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and applicable industry regulations.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.\n\n2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment focused on machine or equipment assembly.\n\nStrong understanding of mechanical assembly methods, fasteners, torque specifications, and mechanical alignment.\n\nProficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for tooling and layout design.\n\nFamiliarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical sub-system integration in machinery.\n\nStrong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting hands-on production environments.\n\nKnowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement techniques.\n\nExperience with custom or low-volume machinery assembly.\n\nLean Six Sigma certification.\n\nFamiliarity with ERP and MES systems (e.g., SAP, Epicor, Plex).\n\nBackground in equipment startup, testing, and commissioning.\n\nWorking Environment and Physical Demands\nWilling to, and able to frequently move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for various reasons.\n\nMust be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time.\n\nMust be able to move about inside and outside of equipment, warehouse and office space and position oneself to work on the equipment.\n\nWill frequently operate hand and power tools, computers and other office equipment.\n\nOccasionally ascend/descend a ladder to access high places on the equipment,Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.\n\nAbility to travel by vehicle or airplane, domestically.\n\nWhat We Offer\nThe salary range for this role is $73,828- $90,439 however, Packsize considers several factors when determining compensation when extending a job offer, including but not limited to, the role being offered, the associated responsibilities, the candidate's prior work experience, education/training, and any special skills.\nIf this role excites you but you don’t meet each requirement listed, we encourage you to apply anyway.
