The focus ofthis role will primarily be to manage and sustain complex PLCOOPcode bases, developed in Codesysand B&R, currently runningon multiple Packsizemachine platforms. Secondary responsibilities will be to maintainthe code on a machine built around aSiemensPLC. Therewill also be some development of new code based on part obsolescence, safety issues, customer requirementsand code restructures.\nWhat You’llBring\nBachelor's degree (BS) from four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Science (CS) or similar.\n\nMotion physics and advanced motion control programming\n\nApplication and/or firmware development experience in a high-level (OOP) language (Python, C, C++, C #)\n\nIEC 61131-2/PLCopenprogramming languages (structured text is a must, FBD is a plus)\n\nExperience with Git/SVN including commit, branching, merging, debug and related functions for code development and management\n\nIndustrial Ethernet (EtherCAT, PowerLinketc..)\n\nFamiliar with various closed-loop feedback control strategies\n\nProgrammable safety expertise\n\nExperience in Codesys, Seimens, and B&R Automation Studio (TwinCATa plus)\n\nFamiliar with agile approaches to product development (both participant and leader)\n\nAbility to read electrical schematics\n\nAbility to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues\n\nCurious with a continuous improvement mindset\n\nExperience with an Engineering Change Process (ECO/ECN)\n\nWhat You'll Do\nManage and sustain PLC code bases for various industrial controlsplatforms\n\nDevelop high level OOP structured text code in Codeys, B&RAutomationand Siemens\n\nCommissionnew machines(machines containservo drives, various sensors,pneumatic actuatorsandgluers\n\nHelp architect code\n\nMaintain code in repositories\n\nDocument control application designs\n\nProgram automation applications\n\nDevelop formal test plans and scripts, then work with a testing team to execute the test\n\nEstimate implementation effort to develop automation applications\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve application issues\n\nTrack and report project status (using Azure DevOps, Confluence etc.)\n\nTravel to customer locations to resolve technical problems\n\nParticipate in brainstorming and ideation sessions around product development and improvement\n\nSupport machines during development, productionand operation (remote and on-site support)\n\nAssistin creating project plans\n\nProvide input on resource allocation\n\nAssess skill sets and resource strengths/weaknesses for staffing projects\n\nMentor other engineers\n\nA few other things\nUp to 10% travel as needed\n\nAbility to do the physical work necessary to fabricate prototypes (using machine shop tools, turning wrenches etc.) and building machines\n\nWhat we offer\nPacksizeoffers a competitive benefits package including paid time off, Health, Dental, Short Term/Long Term Disability, Life, 401(k) matching, and a bonus program.
