As a premier 99-bed skilled nursing facility in Bakersfield-conveniently located across from the city’s largest hospital-we provide 24-hour personal and clinical care to a diverse resident population.\nWe are proud to be the first facility in Kern County to implement a Non-Invasive Ventilator Program and continue to lead with innovation, integrity, and compassionate care.\nIf you are passionate about providing quality, resident-centered care in a supportive and professional environment, we invite you to apply.\nPosition Summary\nThe Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides routine daily nursing care and services to assigned residents in accordance with each resident’s individualized care plan and direction from licensed nursing staff.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nProvide direct resident care including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and oral hygiene.\n\nAssist residents with ambulation, repositioning, transfers, and mobility needs.\n\nMeasure and record vital signs (TPRs), weights, and intake/output as directed.\n\nRespond promptly to call lights and ensure residents’ needs are met.\n\nAssist residents during meals and accurately document food and fluid intake.\n\nObserve and report any changes in resident condition to the Charge Nurse.\n\nAssist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.\n\nMaintain clean, organized, and safe resident environments.\n\nFollow infection control, safety, and bloodborne pathogen policies.\n\nAccurately complete required documentation and charting.\n\nMaintain strict confidentiality of all resident information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.\n\nImmediately report incidents, injuries, abuse allegations, or safety concerns.\n\nPerform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.\n\nFollow all facility policies, procedures, and assigned work schedules.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.\nQualifications\nEducation and Experience\nMinimum 10th grade education required.\n\nPrevious skilled nursing facility experience preferred.\n\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations\nCurrent, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of California.\n\nCPR certification preferred.\n\nRequired Skills and Abilities\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\n\nAbility to follow written and verbal instructions.\n\nBasic math skills for documentation purposes.\n\nAbility to recognize and report changes in resident condition.\n\nCompassionate, patient-centered approach to care.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repositioning residents.\n\nAbility to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and assist with heavier transfers as part of a team.\n\nAbility to respond appropriately in emergency situations, including assisting with evacuation if necessary.\n\nWork Environment\nThis position operates in a skilled nursing facility environment and may involve exposure to healthcare-related conditions.
