As a premier 99-bed skilled nursing facility in Bakersfield-conveniently located across from the city’s largest hospital-we provide 24-hour personal and clinical care to a diverse resident population.\nWe are proud to be the first facility in Kern County to implement a Non-Invasive Ventilator Program and continue to lead with innovation, integrity, and compassion.\nIf you are committed to providing quality care and want to work in a supportive, team-oriented environment, we would love to meet you.\nPosition Summary\nThe primary purpose of this position is to provide routine daily nursing care and services to assigned residents in accordance with each resident’s assessment, care plan, and direction from nursing supervisors.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nProvide direct resident care including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and oral hygiene.\n\nAssist residents with mobility, transfers, repositioning, and ambulation.\n\nAnswer call lights promptly and ensure residents’ needs are met in a timely manner.\n\nMeasure and record vital signs (TPRs), weights, intake and output as directed.\n\nObserve and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the Charge Nurse.\n\nAssist residents during meals, including documenting food and fluid intake.\n\nMaintain clean and organized resident rooms and ensure residents remain dry and comfortable.\n\nAssist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.\n\nPerform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.\n\nFollow all infection control and safety protocols, including bloodborne pathogen procedures.\n\nAccurately complete documentation and charting in accordance with facility policies.\n\nMaintain strict confidentiality of all resident information in compliance with HIPAA.\n\nImmediately report incidents, injuries, abuse allegations, or safety concerns.\n\nFollow all established policies and procedures and perform duties as assigned by supervisors.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.\nQualifications\nEducation and Experience\nMinimum 10th grade education required.\n\nPrevious experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.\n\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations\nCurrent, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of California.\n\nCPR certification preferred.\n\nRequired Skills and Abilities\nAbility to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.\n\nAbility to follow written and verbal instructions.\n\nBasic math skills for documentation and intake/output recording.\n\nAbility to recognize and report changes in resident condition.\n\nProfessional demeanor and commitment to compassionate care.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repositioning residents.\n\nAbility to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and assist with heavier transfers as part of a team.\n\nAbility to respond quickly in emergency situations.\n\nMay assist in resident evacuation during emergencies.\n\nWork Environment\nThis position works within a skilled nursing facility environment with exposure to healthcare-related conditions. The noise level is typically low to moderate.
