He/she reports to the Cook and Dietary supervisor.\nEssential Duties\nMust be able to learn food service routine within a short period.\nSet up meal trays.\nMust strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.\nAssist with serving the different meals.\nCheck and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.\nObserve the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.\nOperate dishwasher.\nPrepare nourishments and snacks.\nSweep and mop kitchen.\nCarry out trash and garbage.\nPut groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.\nTo leave the kitchen in a clean and sanitary manner and be of assistance when called upon by the cook or dietary supervisor.\nClean work surfaces and refrigerators.\nSweep, mop, and maintain floors.\nParticipate in the orientation and on-going training of dietary staff.\nAbility to work in cooperation and harmony with personnel in all departments.\nSupervisory Requirements\nThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.\nQualification Education and/or Experience \nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nLanguage Skills\nAbility to read technical procedures.\nAbility to read and follow recipes.\nAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.\nMathematical Skills\nAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.\nReasoning Ability \nAbility to solve practical problems.\nAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations\nMust obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate.\nPhysical Demands\nThe essential functions of this position require the following physical abilities: Standing and /or walking very frequently. Sitting occasionally. Reaching with hands and arms frequently, pushing/pulling very frequently. Talking and /or hearing very frequently. Tasting and /or smelling very frequently. Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling occasionally.
