Assignments are determined by the needs based on the activity of the shift. Reports to the Lead Cook and the Dining Services Manager.\nEssential Duties\nMust be able to learn new food service routines within a short period.\nSet up meal trays.\nAssist with serving the different meals.\nAssist with preparing different meals.\nMust strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.\nCheck and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.\nObserve the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.\nOperate dishwasher.\nMaintain quaternary solution in sanitizer buckets.\nPrepare nourishments and snacks.\nPut groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.\nClean work surfaces in the kitchen, dining room, and refrigerators.\nSweep, mop, and maintain floors in the kitchen and dining area.\nCarry out trash and garbage in the kitchen and dining areas.\nTo leave the kitchen in a clean and sanitary manner and be of assistance when called upon by the Lead Cook or Dining Services Manager.\nParticipate in the orientation and on-going training of dietary staff.\nAbility to work in cooperation and harmony with personnel in all departments, upholding company values.\nFollows all applicable federal, state, and corporate guidelines, standards, and policies and procedures.\nSupervisory Requirements\nThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.\nQualification\nEducation and/or Experience \nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nLanguage Skills \nAbility to read technical procedures. Ability to read and follow recipes. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.\nMathematical Skills \nAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.\nReasoning Ability \nAbility to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations \nMust obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate.\nPhysical Demands\nThe essential functions of this position require the following physical abilities: Standing and /or walking very frequently. Sitting occasionally. Reaching with hands and arms frequently, pushing/pulling very frequently. Talking and /or hearing very frequently. Tasting and /or smelling very frequently. Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling occasionally.
