Assists staff in completing housekeeping duties as needed.\nEssential Duties\nSupervises housekeeping staff and coordinates staffing schedules to ensure the proper cleaning of offices, public areas, residences, and community grounds. Conducts regular inspections of all resident and public areas.\n\nPlans and schedules cleaning programs, including but not limited to annuals, move-in preparations, and carpet cleaning.\n\nMonitors inventory levels, orders all equipment and supplies needed for the department, and ensures the safe handling and storage of them.\n\nAssists in scheduling and conducting training sessions and department meetings for housekeeping personnel.\n\nEnsures staff is trained on the safe handling of cleaning chemicals in accordance with department guidelines and assures compliance with local, state, and federal safety standards, MSDS, OSHA, EPA, and other applicable rules and regulations.\n\nAssists housekeeping staff with cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, restrooms, kitchens, resident apartments, and other areas as needed.\n\nMay assist with monitoring the budget for the housekeeping department.\n\nPrepares resident charges/billing for housekeeping services when applicable.\n\nStrives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.\n\nSupervisory Requirements\nThis position has supervisory responsibilities.\nQualification\nEducation and/or Experience\nHigh school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).\nMinimum of one year of related experience and/or training.\nPrevious experience or training in supervision and scheduling required.\nExperience working in a long-term care facility preferred.\nLanguage Skills\nMust possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.\nAbility to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.\nMust maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of housekeeping work areas.\nAbility to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing housekeeping practices.\nMathematical Skills\nAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.\nReasoning Ability\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.\nAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations\nFluent in written and spoken English.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
