Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility and may be required by the Director of Nursing (DON) and/or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) when applicable, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.\nPay Range for this position is $95,000-$98,000 DOE\nEssential Duties\nCoordinate and participate in resident care.\nManage and administer IVs.\nSupervise, instruct and assist LVN/LPN Nurses, Treatment Nurses and CNAs in provision of care with\nprompt response to call signals.\nMake rounds and provide report.\nPerform skilled care assessments.\nParticipate in orientation and on-going training of staff.\nRespond to and monitor care issues and changes in condition.\nAssist residents in achieving the highest practicable level of self-care, independence and well-being.\nSupervise staff, including taking or assisting with appropriate disciplinary measures.\nAssist physicians and other healthcare providers when making visits and conducting examinations.\nCommunicate with physicians and other health professionals regarding resident care, treatment and changes in condition.\nCommunicate with resident families/significant others regarding care.\nCoordinate preparation for new admissions. • Coordinate and respond to medical emergencies.\nCommunicate new or updated orders for rehabilitation therapies.\nVerify laboratory test samples are obtained as ordered, results are received timely and physicians are notified of results promptly.\nProvide resident care including carrying out physician’s orders for care, providing medication and treatment.\nReport significant findings or changes in condition and potential concerns to Director of Nursing.\nParticipate in development, maintenance and implementation of the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing department.\nParticipate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as requested by Administrator, Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing.\nOversee direct care activities to assure care delivery is consistent and follows policies and procedures.\nOversee the development and implementation of care plans. Review for regulatory compliance and nursing standards.\nAssure physician orders are current, accurate, signed, and communicated to the nursing staff and other clinical disciplines.\nAssure documentation and investigation of incidents are appropriate and monitor for accuracy and completeness.\nFacilitate interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.\nCollaborate with ancillary services for efficient, timely, and accurate delivery of services and reports (Pharmacy, Labs, Therapies).\nRegularly communicate information and changes to staff.\nCounsel, coach, and educate employees to maintain or improve performance.\nComplete audits of the med carts, med rooms, charting/documentation and other nursing practices.\nMonitor and evaluate infection control practices.\nParticipate in new employee orientation and trainings.\nIdentify staffing needs.\nSupervisory Requirements Assist with the overall supervision of and management of the nursing staff.\nQualification Education and/or Experience\nMinimum requirements to perform this position include graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.\n2 years or more experience preferably in a long-term care facility and a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.\nKnowledge and experience with EHR software preferred (PCC)\nLanguage Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills\nMathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.\nReasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations: Current Registered Nursing License (RN), current CPR certification. Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred. Must maintain all required continuing education/licensing. Must remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing at all times.\nPhysical Demands The essential functions of this position require the following physical abilities: Standing and/or walking very frequently.
