Interns must be located in Indianapolis during the duration of the program and be willing to commit to a hybrid schedule of 3 days in office/2 days remote each week.\nWhat You’ll Experience\nOur Model Risk team plays a key role in assessing the Bank’s model risk through model validations, risk reviews, and ongoing analysis. As a part of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), they validate financial models throughout the Bank in order to assess model reasonableness, weaknesses, and risks. They interact with model owners and model users across the Bank to understand current model performance, development activities, and emerging risks.\nAs a Model Risk intern at FHLBank, you’ll:\nSupport the validation of financial and statistical models to ensure accuracy and compliance.\nAnalyze complex datasets and create clear visualizations and reports to inform decision-making.\nResearch emerging trends and best practices in modeling methodologies.\nPerform additional tasks and projects as needed to support team objectives.\nApply strong problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate across teams and present analytical results effectively.\nContribute to meaningful projects that align with your field of study.\nGain exposure to the finance and banking industry.\nWho We’re Looking For\nWe’re seeking students who:\nAre actively enrolled in a graduate degree program.\nAre majoring in Financial Engineering/Mathematical Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or similar quantitative disciplines.\nCommunicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.\nWork well independently and in team settings.\nAre detail-oriented, organized, and eager to solve problems.\nStrong mathematical/statistical/machine learning background.
