Railroad Track Maintenance Technician

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform routine railroad track inspections and document defects/conditions
Perform basic track maintenance and repairs using hand and power tools
Assist with track repairs, ballast work, fasteners, and rerailing as needed
Log inbound railcars and complete the site's established railcar inspection checklist
Document railcar defects and communicate cars requiring additional repair
Perform basic non-lading railcar repairs within the site's approved scope, including permitted brake-related items, placards, and other minor repairs
Maintain inspection and repair records
Work safely around railcars, locomotives, tracks, and other heavy equipment
Performs other duties as required to support safe and efficient track operations
Job Qualifications:
Track inspection/maintenance experience preferred.
Railcar or industrial/mechanical experience is a plus.
May require a valid Driver’s License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
Speak, write, read fluent English
Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
