This role partners closely with Operations and Supply Chain to drive financial performance, inventory optimization, and working capital efficiency. Responsibilities include ownership of cost accounting activities, month-end close, and forward-looking financial analysis, ensuring alignment between operational decisions and financial outcomes.\nThe Financial Manager serves as a key liaison between Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain, translating production plans, inventory movements, and supply decisions into actionable financial insights.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nCost Accounting\nOwn plant-level cost accounting activities, including standard cost maintenance, bill of material and routing validation, labor and overhead rate analysis, and absorption accounting\nAnalyze and explain manufacturing variances, including material usage, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, yield, and mix variances\nPartner with Operations and Engineering to ensure accurate costing for new products, process changes, and capital projects\nMonitor inventory valuation and cost flow assumptions in accordance with GAAP and company policy\nFinancial Analysis & Month-End Close\nPerform month-end close activities including production variance analysis, purchase price variance (PPV) reconciliation, absorption analysis, labor reconciliation, inventory analysis, journal entry preparation, and balance sheet account reconciliations\nAnalyze and communicate financial performance versus targets, highlighting trends, risks, and drivers of variance\nMaintain accurate audit trails and supporting documentation in compliance with GAAP and third-party audit requirements\nInventory Forecasting & Supply Chain Finance\nPartner with Supply Chain, Planning, and Operations to develop and maintain rolling forecasts for finished goods and raw material inventory aligned with demand plans, production schedules, and purchasing strategies\nAnalyze volume, mix, yield, and efficiency impacts on inventory balances, absorption, cost of goods sold, and working capital\nSupport raw material forecasting by analyzing historical consumption, bills of material, supplier lead times, and minimum order quantities to identify financial risks and cash optimization opportunities\nOwn financial analysis of inventory turns, days on hand (DOH), and slow-moving / excess / obsolete (SLOB) exposure, including reserve modeling and trend reporting\nTranslate MRP outputs and production plans into financial projections for inventory balances, PPV, absorption, and cash flow\nPlanning, Budgeting & Forecasting\nSupport preparation of plant financial forecasts, annual budgets, and long-range plans, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow impacts\nMaintain a rolling production and absorption model outlining volume and mix impacts versus plan\nParticipate as Finance representative in production planning, S&OP, or IBP discussions, providing financial insight into trade-offs between service levels, inventory investment, cost, and capacity utilization\nDevelop and monitor forecast accuracy and bias metrics related to inventory and production assumptions\nOperations & Capital Support\nWork closely with Operations to understand and quantify the financial impact of OEE performance, throughput, and labor efficiency\nMonitor, analyze, and report on fixed assets and capital projects, including capitalization, depreciation, and budget-to-actual tracking\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives by identifying financial opportunities tied to operational performance and inventory management\nRequired Skills and Abilities\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling\nStrong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing finance\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills\nAbility to partner cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities\nEnglish proficiency required\nMust have valid authorization to work in the United States\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration\nMinimum 5 years of experience in a financial analyst or accounting role, preferably in manufacturing\nExperience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle (SAP preferred)\nDemonstrated cost accounting experience strongly preferred\nPhysical Requirements\nProlonged periods of sitting and working at a computer\nAbility to lift up to 15 pounds as needed\nPAI Pharmaceuticals is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
