Our flagship product, PaiX Navigator, generates actionable insights for pharma, biotech and AI companies worldwide.\nThe role\nWe are looking for a hands-on data engineer to integrate data from our global partners into our platform. Data integration is the core of the role, and agentic AI tooling is part of how we do it. This is an on-site position in our Heidelberg office.\nYou will work closely with medical, engineering and commercialization colleagues in a small, pragmatic team with short decision paths and direct access to the founders.\nWhat you'll do\nOnboard new data partners, from first assessment of their data through to reliable production ingestion\n\nMap partner data to our internal data model and work with providers to close gaps\n\nBuild and maintain robust, well-tested data pipelines\n\nEnsure high standards in data quality and help evolve our database and data infrastructure\n\nDocument data and transformations so that every step is transparent and traceable\n\nEnsure data is handled securely, de-identified and in line with healthcare data regulations\n\nHelp us apply AI-assisted methods to data integration, with appropriate quality checks\n\nWhat you bring\nSeveral years of hands-on data engineering, including building and running production data pipelines\n\nStrong SQL and relational database design skills\n\nR and Python skills on Linux systems\n\nFamiliarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7 FHIR and common clinical coding systems\n\nUnderstanding of data privacy and security in a regulated environment, including GDPR\n\nDay-to-day use of AI-assisted development tools and curiosity to go further with them\n\nA pragmatic mindset: you choose the simplest solution that works\n\nAbility to turn messy, real-world data into clear findings and next steps\n\nGood communication with technical and non-technical colleagues\n\nIndependent, hands-on working style with agile mindset\n\nFluent English, our primary working language\n\nNice-to-have skills\nExperience with genomics/clinical & pathology data/digital histopathology data\n\nExperience with graph databases or ontologies\n\nExperience with containers, CI/CD and cloud infrastructure on hyperscalers.\n\nWhat you get from joining PAICON\nHybrid working, with core office days to help organise how you do your best work\n\nAn inclusive team where different backgrounds and perspectives are part of the point\n\nA friendly, motivated and agile environment where things move quickly and you see the impact of your work\n\nFlat hierarchies and short decision paths, with direct access to founders and medical, engineering and commercial colleagues\n\nReal ownership of your ideas: propose something good and you will be the one building it\n\nYou will join a team solving a problem that matters, in a company where your voice carries weight from day one.
