Supports program operations and assists with identifying and selecting eligible participants. Delivers educational, vocational, and personal counseling to low-income students who are potential first-generation college attendees. Guides students academically, administers assessments, and facilitates referrals to support students in achieving their educational goals. Conducts targeted outreach initiatives and organizes academic and professional development workshops. This position requires working a fluctuating schedule, including nights and weekends. This is a grant-funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding.What a day of a Post Secondary Advisor looks like:\nAdvises students on course of study, course offerings, necessary testing, and prerequisites.\n\nGuides students and staff and answer questions regarding financial aid programs.\n\nServes as liaison on special projects.\n\nAssists students in selecting a major or program. Assists in understanding educational, personal, and occupational strengths and limitations.\n\nDevelops and maintains positive relations with the community to promote College partnerships and collaboration.\n\nQualifies, registers, and monitors students in recruitment and retention programs.\n\nAssists students with issues utilizing a variety of formats such as in-person, phone, email, and online chat. Assists students with registration paperwork and registration on the system.\n\nAnalyzes test results and identifies areas requiring further attention.\n\nCoordinates or assists with implementing the program’s goals, objectives, and evaluation procedures.\n\nMaintains current knowledge of field or profession.
